We spend a night here resently and it was OK. The staff was very friendly, the room was OK for the price. Downside was a small bath and toilet - that was fine with us though. The room though had single glazing and I'm pretty sure it must be really cold in the winter time. Breakfast was actually OK and... More

Breathtaking views from Strathwhillan House. A family run business, we were made to feel like one of the family. Breakfast was delicious though not much choice. Rooms were spotless, we didn't have an en suite, but a robe was provided to get to our private bathroom down the corridor. We had a take away on our last night, the proprietor... More

I could not be more satisfied with my staying in Strathwhillan House. Though I only stayed there for one night, it was amazing experience. Owner is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere of the house is very cozy and welcoming. Breakfast was great, as well as the room service. More to it, Strathwhillan House is located very close... More

Looks nice from the outside, bit dated inside, needs a bit of TLC. Owner could not be more helpful, nice and welcoming. Breakfast ok, too much microwave use. However all that being said B&B for a family £70. Great value. If you want more spend £200 a night and go elsewhere. Would definitely return. Oh and for those interested they... More

A decent B+B at a reasonable price very close to the harbour. The room was clean so can have no complaints tbh. My only issue was the breakfast. I didn't read the letter on my bed which explained you had to book breakfast in the morning. I just assumed when the owner said it was 9 to 9.30 I would... More

Right next to the ferry terminal or 200 yards straight uphill if you're on your bike! Very welcoming host and room was exactly what we needed for 3 men cycling the island. Breakfast was alright, and advice on cycling was offered!

Lovely settings, very close to ferry terminal and town. Owner was friendly and very laid back. Room smelt a little bit funky on first impressions but seemed clean. Tea and coffee in room was not brilliant. but great lounge area for family get together's. breakfast was ok.

Very friendly obliging owner, clean comfortable, smashing breakfast, great views and location easy access to transport ferry and bus. Family holiday party of seven, everyone had a great time. Arran is a beautiful island with plenty to do. We were even lucky enough to see an otter feeding down at the front across from the shops in the middle of... More

I'm sorry to say I agree with the poor reviews. It is definite that the owner does make an effort with her guests but the house felt very tired and pretty damp. We were in a smaller than expected twin room with 'private bathroom' which meant our bathroom was at the end of the corridor from our room and we... More
