Just returned from a shortened stay at this hotel where we left early. What can I say I was disgusted we were put in a room you would not put a dog into. Light over the toilet broken, no light working in the bedroom - blind broken - all for the simple price of £72.00 per night. After looking forward... More

Stayed overnight after walking from Loch Ranza on the coastal path.We arrived tired after a long day.The pre-meal drinks went down well, especially the large selection of gin with fruit, as did the food in the Black Grouse restaurant. We loved the spacious bathroom and a soothing bath. Highly recommend.

This was our first time on Arran and we were pleased we spent it at Blackwaterfoot Lodge. As a family run business you can really tell that a lot of hard work and dedication had gone into making the guest experience a fantastic one. The food was amazing and the cosy bar is bursting with every Scotch Whisky, Gin and... More

Had a fantastic long weekend at this wee gem of B&Bs. Service was fab. Owners very friendly and could not do enough to help over weekend. Rooms were lovely, cleaned every day, comfortable beds, lovely surroundings. Breakfast was great. Bar staff friendly and knowledgable. We ate in bar and restaurant attached. Black Grouse. Food was fantastic. Well presented and absolutely... More

We stayed here for a girls weekend in a small group. The staff at the Black Water Foot Lodge were fantastic, really knowledgeable about the local area, the local drinks & of course their fantastic food. The food was fabulous - fresh, hearty & delicious. We had 3 courses and all tried a bit if everything we ordered. The mackerel... More

We spent three glorious days at this lodge and will return when we go to Scotland again. The innkeepers are fun to be around and their food is terrific. Our trip organizer arranged a special dinner that the three courses were absolutely stunning. Our first course was courgette & dill soup. Second was Long-braised Scottish Lamb with roasted baby potatoes... More

The village is small, and the hotel is one of two available. It's an old large house with high ceilings and plaster cornices. Breakfast is excellent, and a wide choice. The free wi-fi was a bit slow, but good enough for emails. Only 30 minutes from the ferry and the main town of Brodick. A bit overpriced but had all... More

Having read some of the other reviews (whilst on the ferry, admittedly) below I was expecting an OK but not great experience. If you're expecting palatial bathrooms, a 52" plasma TV or fish 'n' chips for a fiver then you'll be disappointed. But that's not what I'm looking for in a holiday. The room was more than large enough, the... More

It's the food that makes the difference! We loved the interesting ingredients and menu with attention to every detail of flavour and presentation. The mussels were the best I have tasted. We had mackerel perfectly filleted, served with pickled fennel, slow cooked jersey potatoes and a puree I think was avocado. Finishing with the sweet we never intended to have,... More
