We arrived after a very long day's hiking on the Arran Coastal Way to find the restaurant closed. :-( But the lovely Anne had already made a reservation for us at the nearby hotel -- knowing that it would be busy. Thoughtful and wonderful. The room was lovely. The bath was sumptuous. Later on, I found that I'd been bitten... More

My husband and I were traveling for our anniversary and decided to travel to the Isle of Arran. What a wonderful choice. When I chose The Blackwaterfoot Lodge it was for their availability for the nights we needed. What we got was so much more! This family run establishment is like coming home. Everyone in the family works on the... More

I visited with a friend & stayed for 7 nights. The room was great - had a sea view, very spacious & slightly quirky. Breakfast was delicious - always freshly cooked and very tasty. They have a great bar and restaurant too. We loved the wide selection of Scottish gins - great for an early evening gin and tonic after... More

Seems like a family run place, and had all the personal attention features that you'd expect. Plus the food was really good, carefully selected and presented. Craft beers, many local, and fine wines. Excellent.

I stayed one night with my son whilst on a cycling trip and we enjoyed a very friendly welcome, a comfortable room and excellent food - we ate in the bar and it was some of the best bar food we've ever had. Bar staff were very friendly and informative

We walked the Arran Coastal Way over 5 days and stayed here 2 nights and absolutely loved it. The service was warm and personal and the Lodge is a charming old building that has been furnished beautifully. Ian, the owner, came to collect us at Lochranza and drove us back to the Lodge. We were immediately drawn to the convivial... More

The Lodge is located in the heart of this small village. It is an old style establishment with old style furniture and fittings. As others have said if you are looking for modern furniture and large flat screen TV, etc. then this probably isn't the place for you. Rooms - we were in Room 5 which had a large cosy... More

Just returned from a shortened stay at this hotel where we left early. What can I say I was disgusted we were put in a room you would not put a dog into. Light over the toilet broken, no light working in the bedroom - blind broken - all for the simple price of £72.00 per night. After looking forward... More

Oh dear. Such a negative experience cetainly merits a reply. You booked a room for yourself and your daughter with a full understanding of the position and style and price. You opted for the cheaper room but found it to be unsatisfactory. I was unable to provide you with a different room immediatley but told you another would be available... More

Stayed overnight after walking from Loch Ranza on the coastal path.We arrived tired after a long day.The pre-meal drinks went down well, especially the large selection of gin with fruit, as did the food in the Black Grouse restaurant. We loved the spacious bathroom and a soothing bath. Highly recommend.
