This great restaurant was just down from where we were staying. My mum has coeliac disease, but the menu catered for her needs. Excellent choices served by friendly staff. Highly recommended. Booking is advisable as the restaurant can get very busy.

First visit to Waterfront as recommended by b&b proprietor at Troustrie in Crail via previous guests, when we visited mid-September. Fish beautifully cooked with tasty sauce and fresh potatoes including very tasty fresh vegetables. Young waitresses very courteous. Choice of (comfortable) seating in an early Mon. evening, despite occasional pre- booked tables. Efficient fast service and reasonable pricing. Will definitely... More

Have eaten here before a couple of months prior to this visit where both the service and food was excellent and thought of returning at a later date. Unfortunately on my return visit with a friend of mine.. the same standard of service and food were not to be.. the steak was not as ordered as it still had blood... More

TODAY we arrived at the fish and chip shop, baring in mind we were a little early. But we went to the door unaware of this and were RUDELY greeted by a member of staff who shouted that they were not open yet and asked us to leave immediately. This was extremely ignorant and we were not even informed of... More

Our table for four was pre-booked. We arrived the Sunday lunchtime and was taken to our table immediately. A table inside the restaurant with lovely sea views. We placed our drink order and received our drinks quick. It was a lovely day the restaurant was busy, inside and outside seating. We placed our meal order and didn't wait long for... More

lovely restaurant. Good choice of menu with vegetarian and gluten free choices. I had hot smoked salmon salad. Loved the salad as there were raspberries rambles and blackcurrants. Nice wee touch from the usual. Hubby had fish and chips which was a good sized portion. Staff very pleasant and attentive.

There are not too many restaurants in Haddington to recommend but this is one of them. We were staying at Letham House and this was recommended to us. We went on the Thursday steak night - you get steak and chips and a glass of wine for £10. Lovely steak. The service was slightly random but when asked they were... More

We were originally booked in to the Bank hotel, but as it was undergoing structural renovation, the owners suggested the alternative of the Waterfront. We were travelling with our Dutch friends, and were allocated the first floor of the hotel overlooking the harbour. As we were the only two couples on this floor, we had exclusive use of the kitchen,... More

Again, a lovely fresh high tea, service a bit fraught (need more staff on), totally ruined by the amount of people on their mobile phones. We wish more restaurants had a mobile `ban`., some restaurants have a faraday cage system, which jams the signals. Generally clean, perhaps floor could be swept a few times during the day. Staff who were... More
