Lovely couple keen to serve but no longer providing 5* accommodation. Views lovely, very quiet location and easy access to coast and city. Breakfasts well cooked and substantial. However, rooms tired, dusty and in need of updating. No toiletries supplied and tea tray used by ? how many people, coffee and sugar canisters half full and lumpy. Overpriced ,have stayed in a similar property nearby with more facilities and much cheaper.
Ten years ago we used this (remarkable) place in Co Down - and rated it very highly. However, the decade since has not been kind, and - alas - Time has taken its toll. Slightly shredded furniture - a dog sitting on same, adjacent to where clients eat - rooms not properly cleaned (cobwebs / dust etc), Sad - Anna was such a remarkable person then - but now, it's all too clear she and her husband - both charming people, but no longer capable to keeping on top of everything - ought to call it a day. 'Every dog has its day' - and Anna's House has had it glory days - but alas no more. 'Quit while you are ahead, Ken and Anna' - and you are not ahead by much, if anything, I'm afraid. It was lovely when at it's peak, and deserving of all acolades - but now a fading pastiche, alas.
Great location and great house for a party but needs attention to the smaller details. The owners are charming however having rooms decorated when guests are staying doesn't really set the right impression. Or dicated exactly when to have breakfast isn't either.
Anna, her husband and the dog made our stay very enjoyable. The view out the windows of the countryside is great. The rooms were fine, and the breakfast was cooked to order and was very good. All in all, an excellent place from which to enjoy Northern Ireland
My wife and I traveled to Northern Ireland during our trip of Ireland to look for family roots in the area. We found Anna"s House near where my family originated and booked a two night stay. From the moment we met both Anna and Ken, we felt right at home. The setting of the house is ideal. Out in the country over looking a small lake out the front of the house. Very comfortable room and the breakfast was fantastic. Anna has a chef do her cooking and makes everything from scratch. Great pastries. Both Anna and Ken were very helpful in our search for possible family connections and touring the area. The whole experience here was very relaxing and was a great location for us to just take a few days to rest on our travels in Ireland and Northern Ireland. They made us feel like family and enjoyed the talks we had with them and would come back here in a heart beat.…
