Was welcomed by the usual friendly staff. When seated we were made aware of a special french onion soup. Which was the nicest dish I have had in years. The flavour was incredible. For main we had beef which was cooked to perfection, veg was perfect. It is clear a lot of care is being taken in the kitchen now.

My favourite restaurant when heading up the coast. So it was not a difficult choice where to stop for lunch. I had the lamb shank which came on a bed of mashed potatoes, roast potatoes and with seasonal vegetables, very tasty indeed. My friend had the burger, which also went down very well. We both also had a panacotta for dessert which also went down a treat. The service was very attentive.

Unreal spot. Best guinness I've had up north . Great hospitality and the wheaten bread is to die for. I had the salmon for starter and roast beef for main... honestly the best meal I've had in ages. Great history around the place and the staff were very helpful and informative! 10/10 I'll definitely return again

Travelling home via the costal route we decided to stop at The Londonderry Arms for lunch before continuing our journey. As we did not have a reservation the helpful young lady on reception was able to find us a table for four at the window. Beef Stroganoff, chicken goujons and steaks were our choice followed by apple crumble and custard and though the service was slow the food was delicious.

Stayed for a sat & sun night (2 adults+2 kids) this July and unfortunately during the heatwave period. The room we had was very hot, i would assume partly due to a corner location getting allot of sun. While that was outside the hotels control when i mentioned it the staff really helped us and organized 2 extra fans which made the second night a lot more bearable so a big thank you for that. The hotel itself is well described by others , do not expect a modern hotel with modern conveniences but is well maintained with that loved feeling about it with interesting features .Food in the bar I would have to honestly say is only fair and a little bit expensive for what you get . Best bits are indeed the staff -very helpful and friendly .The location , lovely small coastal village and the hotel itself if you like the old style hotels. Worst bits i would have to say would be the prices , our stay for the two nights B&B was €608, more than double what it would have been in Belfast, so while I appreciate you have the only hotel in town i would recommend relooking at the price per night . Restaurant prices again are at the high end for the type of food served so overall unless i had a reason to stay in Carnlough again I probably wouldn't justify the price and just do a day trip
