We have just checked out of the galgorm and were so disappointed with our experience. We had heard great reviews and decided to spend the night after our wedding there. While the spa was great and staff lovely, the cottage was far below our expectations. The bathroom smelled so bad we used the spa showers instead. We rang twice to tell guest services and their response was to send someone over to open the window. The cottage itself was average, nothing luxury or to warrant being part of a 4 star hotel. We passed on the message again at check out. Dinner in gillies restaurant was good and staff lovely. Breakfast was average at best. We had a drink in the elements bar, just after pouring wine into my glass a wasp flew into it - the waitress replaced my wine and charged me £9.25 for another glass which I found shockingly poor service for a ‘luxury’ hotel. Absolutely not worth the £370 we paid for one night.

Looking at the pictures and reading the reviews, I was excited about staying at Galgorm Resort and Spa. Checking in was good. You get the whole welcome spiel and are given the “lay of the land”. The rooms are dated—clean but a bit worn. There isn’t a lot of counter space. In the bathroom. There are shelves but one set is over the toilet and the other over the bathtub. The rooms are not air conditioned. The windows only open a bit and doesn’t let much air in. It does open enough to let the flies in. They have put Dyson fans in the rooms but they don’t cool the room much. Dinner at the Italian restaurant was very good. Breakfast was okay and dinner at the golf club was also just okay. Went to the gym which had a bad odor. I think it was from the rubber mats on the floor. Maybe they were new? Just as I was really hitting my stride in my workout, they started a spin class right next to me! There is a reason spin classes are in separate rooms! They are loud!! Loud thumping music with a person shouting instructions can’t be anything but loud when I inquired if this was a normal occurrence, the reply was, yes, they have classes for their members at 7 am. My takeaway , they value the members experience more than the hotel guests experience. Some positives: the staff is very nice and the grounds are very pretty. Some of our group played golf and said the course was good. All in all I will not recommend staying here.

Beautiful hotel, offering a wonderful spa experience. Very friendly staff - Maurice greeted us upon arrival and was there again to say goodbye when we left. The ladies on the front desk were very friendly and helpful too as were the housekeeping staff. All staff that we encountered around the hotel, in the restaurant and spa were very well trained and professional.

Had an amazing time here with friends. Chilling in the beautiful thermal village, dinner in Gillies and overnight stay in hotel. Beautiful place with first class service and great chat with Maurice! Delicious food and comfortable room.

The galgorm is an amazing stay & although it seems expensive, what you are getting for your money is complete value for money. From the minute we arrived we felt like a valued customer, our room overlooked the river & was so tranquil to just watch from the window, we dined at the Castle Kitchen; which was delicious & again the service was great. The thermal village at the Galgorm is just stunning & should be experienced by everyone. You come away from the Galgorm with a huge sense of relaxation. I definitely will be returning.
