We stayed in the Purbeck Suite (room 4). When we first entered the room we were so impressed and then we were shown the bathroom! WOW. A freestanding copper bath and a walk in all bells and whistles shower. The hotel is beautifully designed and we loved the way the Priory theme was spun through the paintings and ornaments. The...

Lovely stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary! The Priory has not changed much over the last 10 (+) years, but has a certain charm if you like 'Country House Chic' not quite like the new 'Shabby chic' of many revamped hotels like 'The Pig' chain - this is the genuine article! A little too much flouncy chintz for many in...

We stayed here for our fourth visit for my birthday a few days ago. We always like to book the boathouse as the ground floor rooms have their own private terrace area right on the river, which is lovely. However, we were not told that due to the building of a new restaurant, the access to the boathouse had to...

Room (21) was very clean and spacious. However its the hottest hotel room I have ever stayed in and I travelled a lot. Forced one of the windows open as it had stuck. Turned off the radiators and it cooled down eventually. But had a smell of cooking all night. Plus I had some visitors in the roof space above...

Stayed here for work but would definitely go back for a short break. Old traditional hotel with views over river. Excellent food and service and nice quaint traditional building. Cosy hotel but with decent size rooms, Milton brown toiletries and comfy bed.

If you are in Wareham on a Sunday find time to enjoy a fabulous Sunday roast. Old fashioned hospitality and mouthwatering food with attentive but not overbearing staff. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment and every mouthful. This is what hospitality is all about. Thank you to the chef and all the staff.

Stayed one night (mid week) and had a very enjoyable time. Setting excellent, next to the river and quaint town, all surrounded by lovely open countryside. Stayed in a courtyard room which was both comfortable and spacious. Building has plenty of history and original features - the communal areas are all tastefully furnished and comfortable. We did however find the...

There are a number of events in life that give one something to really look forward to - one such is The Priory's February Value Lunch menu (£19.95). This time, and unusual for the time of year, we were offered the opportunity to eat outside, so idyllic was the temperature under clear skies, but we did decide to keep to...
