Change of management 17.04.2016 so this can only get better. Smashing position, just on the river but.. bedroom not just tired but comatose, dirty, smelly and tiny, 8ftx9.5ft. The bed, a very small double, is so short [to fit in the room] that my feet hung over the end - I am 5'5 so not overtall. Sheets polyester and well... More

My husband & I went there for dinner it was a Groupon deal given to us as a present. The service was excellent & we were made to feel very welcome we were told we could have anything we wanted to eat including the specials board. If we had wanted steak that was a £4 supplement. The food was excellent... More

We had lunch in this pub today. The fish and chips were delicious - not too much batter. We had locally brewed beer and cider and found the pub and perfect place for a relaxed lunch. Friendly staff too.

Just had a wonderful meal here. Couldn't fault the hospitality, service and as for the food - absolutely wonderful! Would give more than 5 stars if we could. Lobster and crab bisque - perfect. Chicken liver parfait - amazing. The black rock grill is great, your food cooked in front of you exactly the way you want it cooked. The... More

What a lovely welcome inside awaited us. Dogs are offered a biscuit from the bar and the service is genuinely welcoming, bar staff who seem to actually enjoy their work really make a difference so thak you for reminding us how it's done! Good portion sizes to the jacket potatoes for hungry dog walkers. Really good coffee for a pub... More

We stayed one night B&B in the family room. It was small indeed but very comfortable, warm and clean. It was only for one night so absolutely fine as children were small but could be crampt if your kids are big. We ate in the same pub for dinner for convenience and it was ok but recommend to explore Wareham... More

Six of us went to the Quay Hotel for lunch. My starter, prawn and lobster cocktail was delicious as was the crab salad. All portions were large and nicely presented. For the main course we had the 8oz fillet streak, though they seemed larger. We went for the "hot stone" option where you cook it yourself. This is great as... More

Here in dorset for a two week break and what a find! Had sunday lunch and without doubt this was the best sunday lunch weve ever had out.....and weve had a lot!!!!! The 3 meats were melt in the mouth and lots of them, but the main thing that made this stand out from every other was that the chef knew... More

Lovely pub in great surroundings, good service and great food. However be prepared to pay a lot of money for your drinks as this pub is more expensive that London pubs. The food was unfaultable and greatly presented. Good size portions also.

Found this place in the Good Beer Guide and would not hesitate to recommend it. Location is good (on a square beside the river), beer excellent and the bar comfortable (with lovely open fire), Hadn't realised that the second night we were there was steak night; all the tables were accordingly fully booked, but the staff nevertheless managed to squeeze...
