Great hotel for family holidays. Stunning position and great facilities for families. Somewhat old fashioned for some peoples' tastes. Has a faithful clientele who return regularly. Helpful dining room staff who coped very well with a large party encompassing 3 generations. Good food catering for all tastes. Downside is indifferent staff manning reception. Also the bar - expensive, barmaid suffering... More

We were looking for afternoon tea at this classic hotel (one that I stayed at as a child), but on entering the hotel were met by confusion over the menu offered in the afternoon. There was a heavy musty odor in the air, old sofas providing seating, and worn out and dated carpet and decor. The concrete model houses in... More

Thought I was in a time warp , back to the 50s , staff were brilliant, room overlooking the sea & Harrys Rocks, wonderful service , breakfast & dinners , heated pool a delight, it's family friendly but children all well behaved, dogs welcome & well catered for , lovely walks, very near beautiful Studland bay , a few mins... Just returned from 4 nights here. Food was fantastic and it has been so fantastically thought out for families. During day you can use pool in spa area with kids at 2set time slots leaving it a relaxing adult only area rest of time. They even had swimming Nappies as we ran out. Great facilities and activities for older kids... More

Tremendous family holiday, dining room staff and food good. Great facilities for all ages. Our rooms were spacious, good value and comfortable. Ages 8 to 74 all thoroughly enjoyed themselves for 5 days. Key weaknesses are the reception which are much better at chatting to themselves than serving their customers . Also the bar which is far too expensive, full... More

Beautiful beaches, remarkable moors and the wonderful flora and fauna that abound here make Studland Bay one of my favourite places in the UK, whatever the time of year. Not only is it blessed by nature, but for those who, like me, don't want to spoil the place by swamping it with cars, it's only a bus ride from Bournemouth... More

My room was very clean, bright, airy, quiet, and all things I wanted from a hotel. Staff extremely courteous and helpful in every way. It was a real pleasure to stay here, truly a relaxing experience. Also, delicious food.

Worst breakfast I have ever tried to eat. So greasy and all value items. Dinner not much better. Majority of staff unfriendly. Bedroom fusty and way way too dated. No way worth £500 per night. I would rather sleep in my car and to be honest eat a garage sandwich. The owners should be ashamed. They really are relying on... More

Popped into this hotel to review for a large family Christmas venue. Thought would be lovely to all get together. Driven passed for 48 years so decided to stop. Always thought it looked lovely from the road however whilst the decor is traditional and chic the staff need a training session in customer service. The reception service and bar service... More

Having been "double booked" and badly let down by The Bankes Arms in Studland, we arrived at The Knoll House Hotel, with dog, desperate for somewhere to stay at short notice. We couldn't have been more happy to be greeted by a very Helpful and friendly receptionist who was only too happy to give us one of their best rooms... More
