A nice village pub, good ales, average food, and a great location. We managed to book the last remaining double room upon arrival, which we were pleasantly surprised by. Light and airy with a lovely outlook over Studland bay. The ales at the bar were varied and quite good. The food was average. The staff were friendly. This pub is... More

Rang Sunday night from Wales to enquire whether they could accommodate us with a dog for two nights Tuesday / Wednesday. After the foreign sounding girl on the phone agreeing availability, although we would have to change rooms, we gave our credit card details to guarantee the booking. P.S. They don't have an Internet booking system nor email confirmations so... More

Bankes Arms is our favorite pub to visit after a lazy day relaxing at Studland. Wonderful views over the bay and superb food, The local brew too is excellent and always such a good choice of ales. The food is always cooked well and ample portions. I love the tuna steak .

We met our friends here for lunch and sat in the large garden at the front of the pub. The view was amazing and the food was tasty. It arrived within 30 mins. Recommend the goats cheese salad. Service was fantastic.

This is a real pub, selling real ale. Very busy in a superb location. Choice of many different real ales. Varied menu available. Not of the highest order but much much more appropriate and reasonably priced for the average tourist, than the contentious food and service available at the Pig on the Beach just down the road. Plenty of space... More

Had the veggie chilli which seemed fine. The Tuna steak was awful and didn't taste right. The chips tasted of very spent chip fat - needs to be changed. Situated in an ideal spot on the way to Old Harry rocks near Studland.

This is a brew pub. The location of the pub is outstanding with a great sea view. We ordered fish & chips and a ham ploughman. These together with a pint of their own brew real ale and a glass of chardonnay came to £26.45. Lets start with the fish and chips. The fish and peas were previously factory frozen... More

This is our fourth visit over a ten year period and every one has been delightful. The garden overlooking the sea, in good weather, is worth the visit alone but the wide selection of beers and extensive menu completes the visit. It does appear to be expensive but the portions are substantial so we've shared every time and always left... More

So, we had a few problems with the food. The order was wrong and there was a bad apple with one of the Ploughman's. However, the location, beer choice and overall service from the staff is excellent. On a busier day it isn't so good but the day we were there it was incomparable. Well done.
