We booked a table at The Kings Arms Inn on Sunday to follow a countryside walk. The food was excellent, we all (four of us) had carvery and the selection and quality of the food was great. Definitely have dessert! Highly recommend.

My husband treated me to a birthday meal here last week, despite them having a large party in another room our meal came in no time at all, I had the braised lamb shank and my husband had the chicken curry both was delicious, and the Eton mess is to die for!

Have visited this restaurant several times but never eaten in the bar area. Although the food is the same in both the bar and restaurant. Since the restaurant looked empty we opted for the bar. Small intimate and cosy. Only thing off putting was a guy who was drinking at the bar had a laugh like a drain and it...

Four of us went for the Sunday Carvery - loads of meat put on your plate and unrestricted access to vegetables etc. so great value and more importantly great quality - if the chap carving the meat had smiled it would have been a full 5 star rating! Overall brilliant and the fact it was so busy speaks volumes -...

Party of 18 for family birthday booked in for Sunday carvery. Beautifully cooked meats with choice of lamb, pork, beef or turkey with all the trimmings. Excellent choice of veg. All piping hot and really good value too. Can't comment on desserts as were stuffed after main! That said, the ones that we saw being delivered to tables around us...

We live locally and eat out quite frequently. Although we do try other establishments this one is our benchmark and we return regularly. The service is excellent, the menu varied. The portions are extremely good and very good value for money. You are not hurried, even at particularly busy periods. The surroundings are light and spacious and you can have...

Usual restaurant in Shaftesbury was closed so had to find somewhere else. This was a good find. Really lovely inside. It was busy which is always a good sign. Lots of choice on the menu including £7 lunch specials. My Mum opted for a delicious Chicken, ham and mushroom pie and chips. Some peas would have been nice instead of...

Been here many times on our travels and always had an evening dinner here but never the Sunday Carvery, which I have wanted to do for so long. Mission accomplished and very pleased with the meal and service provided. We were a party of 10 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. There was rare and well done roast beef on...

Four of us booked a table for a midweek lunch. We all had main courses from the specials menu, all of which were cooked beautifully and good quality served with an abundance of vegetables. We also had 3 drinks, 2 coffees and a dessert all for 50 pounds. We couldn't believe it. The staff were all very friendly and efficient.

Sunday evening visit. Very popular venue (always a good sign). I had the carvery - plate piled high with selection of meats and veg. I helped my partner out with her unusually delicious vegetarian main. Nice local beers, Scottish (well actually, specifically "Big Country") themed decor. Highly recommended.
