An unexpected trip to Wareham saw me ride from the Castle in search of something to eat. The other pubs in the immediate vicinity appeared a little overpriced and waiting to order took ages so I changed locations. I then strolled over to the Bankes Arms where I found a nice cosy (but nice and cool) bar on a rather... More

Good atmosphere,Friendly service and well presented fresh home cooked food. A nice beer garden to the rear and child friendly. Pork pie Ploughmans was lovely. We didn't stay at the hotel just passing through to visit the castle and have lunchso can't comment on any of the rooms.

Nice looking hotel, we were staying up at Mortons house so only went into this one for a drink a couple of times. From what we saw this was another good place to stay and/or eat. Again Ideally situated for the Castle and Railway.

A really great lunch stop in a classic country hotel pub. Good choice on the menu and selection of beers. Saw the steam train pass the end of the garden from a nice shady seat. A very repeatable experience.

Stopped here for lunch and it was lovely. Varied menu, excellent service and the food was really good. Would highly recommend. We sat in the garden which was very pleasant and dog friendly. I had chicken and my husband had Whitebait. Both excellent and the best Homemade chips ever. Worth going back just for the chips.

We attended 'The Bankes Arms' on sat 9th July for a family wedding. Everything about this day was amazing. The food was outstanding, the staff very friendly and helpful and the location was beautiful. We could not fault anything. Definitely top of our list on our next visit!

I came to Corfe with some friends during the Bank Holiday weekend and we loved this hotel/restaurant so much we kept coming back! On our first visit we sat outside in the sunshine, gazing at the stunning view of Corfe Castle while devouring the BEST HOG ROAST I've ever had, washed down with some Thatcher's cider, of course! The next... More

Came down on a visit to the area with my girlfriend. I haven't covered much of the south coast before, but had an excellent overall trip - a visit to the Bankes Arms Hotel was a definite highlight. Food - we ordered a range of starters to share and then had our own individual main courses. The seafood was delicious!... More

Need to get the bar staff sorted surely you should welcome customers and ask what they want when they come in! Not leave them waiting while 2 people behind the bar put glasses on shelf. 5 minutes later was asked if we were being served!! Such a small bar they obviously noticed we hadn't been served. They need to get... More
