We enjoyed our stay at The Gables, which is charming, quiet, and convenient to the center of Bridport and to the coast, both within easy walking distance. The breakfasts were wonderful and made exactly as we requested. We would return for a longer stay without any hesitation.

We made what was for me largely a nostalgia visit to the town where I grew up, now a major tourist attraction, though we took care to be there in November, very much the off-season for the English southwest Channel coast. The Gables B&B and its owners, Frances Everitt and her husband, made the trip not just worthwhile, but entirely...

Going down to Bridport for a musical evening at the Electric Palace - the Simon & Garfunkel story (excellent) and after the show exiting to torrential rain we hurried back to our B& B. Our beautiful ,large, warm , comfortable room with its cosy bed was so welcoming. And after a cup of hot chocolate fell happily asleep. The sun...

Everything at The Gables was even better than we'd expected. The Blue Bamboo Room is large and comfortable, with plenty of storage space in the hallway as well as the room itself. The house is stylishly decorated. Frances and Geraint are friendly and hospitable, with plenty of suggestions for local activities and restaurants. Breakfast was excellent, especially the bacon -...

An Edwardian jewel set in the Dorset town of Bridport. What can I say? France's and Geraint's beautiful home is warm, welcoming and quiet. It has a charm all of its own, being oak panelled throughout, with stone window surrounds. Everything is thoughtfully done and the bed is one of the most comfortable I have slept in in ages. I...

The Gables is a fabulous B&B. We stayed here for a birthday weekend while visiting the Jurassic Coast. We had a friendly welcome, delicious breakfast and a great sleep. It's peaceful, immaculate and homely. Highly recommend.

A last minute 2 night getaway from the madness of London, coupled with the urge to hunt for fossils (!), was a bit mad with the prospect of everywhere potentially being full. However, was thrilled to find The Gables to be the most wonderfully charming and alluring B&B. The house ouzes charm offering an air of relaxation with the acres...

Having chosen carefully, The Gables did not disappoint, in fact, it exceeded our expectations, due in no small part to the warm welcome and extra touches such as tea and cake served on arrival. Frances and Geraint are perfect hosts and we were free to come and go as we pleased without feeling that we were intruding. The house and...

The Gables was recommend by our cousin. We absolutely loved our time there and can't wait to return. The owners are wonderful, kind, and caring. Frances took such good care of us and the place is magnificent. Great breakfast, many choices and homemade! The rooms are big and bright and are arranged beautifully. Cost for staying there is extremely reasonable....
