Great home cooked roast, reasonably priced, friendly helpful staff, great quirky bar with the added value of a beautiful terrace overlooking Lyme Bay ..Lovely. This family run restaurant never fails to please... Great for a quiet meal or a group meal out. Great coffee as well...

We stayed here for one night at the end of June. The hotel is beautifully located with stunning views of Eype's Mouth. The staff were very friendly and obliging. Sadly, the room was a little dated, one of the bins had not been emptied from the previous occupant and the dinner left much to be desired, both in the quality... More

Thank you so much for your comments with regard to your recent stay at the hotel. I am delighted you enjoyed the location, views and found the staff friendly and helpful. I am sorry you found the room a little dated, it is one of our most sought after rooms and was only redecorated and provided with new soft furnishings... More

Having read a previous review about the decor and ambience of this bar of the hotel, we thought it was going to be gloomy and characterless, but we were pleasantly surprised and thought it was really nice. We had a lovely meal. I started with parsnip and celeriac soup, my husband had chicken liver pate and both were delicious. I... More

This met all our expectations. First, it is a great place to stay for walks and visits to other places like Lyme, and a really nice place to come back to, after a day's exploring. The room (number 9) had great views and lots of storage space to clear all the luggage away, keeping the room clear and tidy. The... More

A very restful location, which was our desire. The excellent food in both the restaurant - excellent dishes fresh daily - and bar too. The breakfasts were BIG (thanks Kevin) if you wanted that - we did. There was plenty of choice whatever suit you. Real local ales!! All members of staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. We are not... More

We were staying at the Chalet park just a stone's throw from the hotel and wanted to go out for dinner without driving. We had hoped to have dinner in the hotel restaurant but were told it was fully booked when we rang. Bar meals are served in Smugglers Bar from 6.30 so we decided to try that instead. The... More

Had a lovely stay here on one of the warmest and sunniest weekends this year. Nothing better than returning from a walk along the coastal path with spectacular views and relaxing outside on the terrace with a cold refreshing drink. It is the first time we have tried a hotel stay with our dog and it couldn't have been easier.... More

We stopped here for drinks after a walk along the coastal path from West Bay - we were actually aiming for The New Inn but got here first and thought we'd give it a try. The sun was shining on a total scorcher of a Sunday afternoon and it was just the loveliest place to stop and soak up the... More

With new dog in tow, we arrived at said hotel & were shown to room 9. A beautifully carved 4-poster made the room feel special, which was otherwise clean and offered sea views. A quick shower later then off to dinner via The Smugglers Bar... A pint of Palmers as the sun sets overlooking the sea, doesn't get much better.... More

Set in the small Dorset village of Eype, near Bridport, Eype's Mouth Country Hotel is a family run 17 bedroom hotel. With superb sea views and only a few minutes walk to the beach, the hotel occupies a unique position on the Heritage Coastline. This stunning location, recently filmed Broadchurch television drama, provides the opportunity to walk along the Coastal Path with much to explore and observe for the keen rambler, ornithologist, anthropologist or geologist.Overlooking Lyme Bay and the beautiful coastal path, the Restaurant offers a three course table d'hote menu with plenty of choice for each course. Changed daily, the menu is created by Chef to take advantage of the locally produced foods and includes specialities such as locally caught fish, superb meats and fruit and vegetable farm produce from just north of Bridport. The Admirals Bar is located on the ground floor and open all day to residents. Perfect for pre-dinner drinks, sit and relax over a well deserved aperitif and a few nibbles and peruse the menu.
