Set in the small Dorset village of Eype, near Bridport, Eype's Mouth Country Hotel is a family run 17 bedroom hotel. With superb sea views and only a few minutes walk to the beach, the hotel occupies a unique position on the Heritage Coastline. This stunning location, recently filmed Broadchurch television drama, provides the opportunity to walk along the Coastal Path with much to explore and observe for the keen rambler, ornithologist, anthropologist or geologist.Overlooking Lyme Bay and the beautiful coastal path, the Restaurant offers a three course table d'hote menu with plenty of choice for each course. Changed daily, the menu is created by Chef to take advantage of the locally produced foods and includes specialities such as locally caught fish, superb meats and fruit and vegetable farm produce from just north of Bridport. The Admirals Bar is located on the ground floor and open all day to residents. Perfect for pre-dinner drinks, sit and relax over a well deserved aperitif and a few nibbles and peruse the menu. After dinner, retire to the comfort of the bar or residents lounge for coffee with a brandy or liqueur. A Bar Snack Menu for residents is available Noon - 2pm and 6.30Pm - 8.30Pm daily. This is also available to non-residents during the winter months. A cosy bar with a traditional log fire. The Smugglers Bar is a fine old world cellar bar open during the summer months only. It is ideal if you are visiting the area just for the day or staying locally and are looking for a drink or meal. A Bar Food Menu is served 12 noon - 2pm and 6.30Pm - 8.30Pm. Our bars have an array of fine beers. The local Palmers Brewery (Bridport) provides an excellent traditional real ale with their IPA whilst a guest real ale is often available in the Smugglers Bar. The Smugglers Bar is open from Good Friday until the end of October each year. Opening hours are 11am (12 noon Sundays) until 10pm. The Coastal Lounge is the ideal place to enjoy a light snack, coffee or tea or just to relax with a good book and admire the beautiful seaviews and stunning landscape.

On our return visit we enjoyed this hotel again. This time we took a dog, who enjoyed the lovely area. The hotel was spotless, the food excellent and the staff were all very helpful. Plenty of car parking. Thank you.

Stayed for a couple of nights in the week last minute after Easter. We have eaten here before in the Smuggler's Bar but not stayed. We took the full board dine-in offer and we glad we did. The food throughout our stay was fantastic, high-end restaurant quality. The hotel itself

Can't rate this hotel highly enough, it's great. A great hotel I can't rate highly enough. My husband and I decided to have a last minute break before we pick up our puppy. We have been living away for 4 years so haven't been able to return here, a hotel we stayed often at

I booked for two nights over the Easter weekend and I have returned home rested and refreshed. The location is perfect and peaceful with plenty of parking both opposite the entrance and in a car park below the hotel. We arrived early and expected to park the car, go for a walk

We are delighted you you found the location perfect and peaceful with the hotel offering plenty of car parking. Your on-line booking was made for a double room which was the room allocated. We apologise that there was only one cup and one set of towels. This was an oversight on our part. We have noted your comments regarding the information folder and will update this at once. The room has a bath and shower attachment which I assure you we will address with respect to it being of low water pressure. This has not been a problem in the past and we are sorry it caused you an inconvenience. Your room is a standard double room and although smaller than the superior rooms, its views across the downland to Thorncombe Beacon and the coastline, making it a popular choice of many of our guests. We are pleased you found the food and service at dinner and breakfast excellent. All our food is freshly made making the most of quality local produce. You paid £130 per night for bed & breakfast for your two night stay over a very busy Easter weekend. As you indicate, your comments were not raised at the time, as had they of been, we are sure we could have met your expectations. However, we once again apologise for where we fell short and thank you for your valued feedback as it helps us to improve as we strive to offer the best possible standards of hospitality.

It must be 6 or 7 years since I was last here and I was welcomed back like an old friend. The decor has been freshened up since I was last here and the look is much more contemporary, but the relaxed and friendly (but very efficient) service and amazing food were still the same
