The cottage was lovely and in gorgeous, peaceful surroundings. Everything we needed was there already for our use. Towels, bedding, kitchen facilities & utensils, personal space outside our cottage with bbq, laundry room with detergent. We loved being free to use the tennis courts on site. The location was great, near to several beaches, supermarkets, places to eat out, places... More

We wanted to get away from it all and Rudge Farm provided peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings. We will definitely be back! My son loved the fishing lake and my 4 year old daughter loved the play room and running around the grounds.

We stayed at Carters cottage our 4th year on the farm. The location is perfect for exploring Dorset and is quiet and is full of amenities we never do justice to as we are always so busy. The tennis court is perfect for our tennis mad son and the duck pond is always a treat although we didn't manage to... More

We took our four gransons on holiday for the week to Rudge Farm. It was fabulous. They enjoyed it so much that we found it hard to prize them away from the farm. Only the promise of ice creams in West bay at a superb ice cream parlour would persuade them that West Bay was good too.

Rudge Farm is ideal for a family break to enjoy the Jurassic Coast. It is set in a beautiful, peaceful location, yet ideally positioned between the likes of Weymouth and Lyme Regis. It has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and the cottages are comfortable enough. However, it's hard to overlook the need for a bit of a refresh. The decor... More

Our first trip to Rudge Farm Cottages. A long trip to get there (from the North Midlands) and a bit off the beaten track, but well worth it. Felt really relaxed as soon as we arrived. Perfect for a family holiday with lots to do for the little ones - without even leaving the farm. Comfortable and warm accommodation. Lots... More

Stayed at Rudge Farm for a few days with my father. Perfect retreat to rest and enjoy countryside. While he rested in our little cottage, I walked around the farm or rowed in a little boat on the small lake. All you could hear was the occasional cow or sheep. Perfection!! Will be back to explore the beautiful county of... More

Excellent venue for young families - with many things to do at the cottages. Location is ideal, close to Bridport, West Bay, Dorchester and Weymouth. Comfortable, secluded accommodation in a peaceful setting. Mike is a very warm & friendly host who will always do his utmost to make your stay enjoyable.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Rudge Farm Cottages is peacefully situated on a gentle south-facing slope, overlooking the beautiful Bride Valley and close to Dorset’s World Heritage coastline. The farm is a haven for peace and tranquility within 20 acres of beautiful countryside of mature woodland, meadows and lakes. The old farm buildings have been thoughtfully converted into ten attractive holiday cottages, maintaining many of the original features, ranged around a flower-decked yard and with spectacular views across the Bride Valley towards the Coast. The cottages are all 4 star tourist board rated and are comfortably furnished with a warm and inviting atmosphere providing the perfect place for families or couples. The cottages vary in size from one to three bedrooms with most accommodation on the ground floor. Around the Farm we have plenty of leisure facilities, a picturesque woodland walk and sporting activities, including an all weather tennis court, for the more active. Alternatively you can enjoy relaxing down by the meadows or perhaps take a gentle row around the lake. The games room and games barn provide plenty of indoor activities if the weather is not so good. These include pool, table tennis, skittle alley and table football. The farm is also ideal for younger children with safe play areas including a sandpit, swings and slides, trampoline and activity pirate ship. Close to Rudge Farm there are plenty of fantastic beaches, including Hive Beach which has the highly recommended (by the Sunday Times) Hive Beach Cafe. There are also great beaches a bit further afield at Lyme Regis and Weymouth. The Dorset Coastline is a World Heritage site and provides some of the most dramatic coastline in the UK with Chesil Beach, Durdle Door and Golden Cap. ... more   less
