We stopped here for lunch before walking down the hill to the excellent children's farm, and the food, facilities and service were all fantastic. Great menu choices, perfect for the kids and adults, beautifully prepared and presented. The food came quickly and the staff were very friendly, prices were very reasonable for the brilliant quality. Would highly recommend stopping here... More

Weekend stay in this lovely hotel. Part of a family 80th birthday party and then stayover. Breakfast this morning was marvellous and set us up for the day. Room we had was clean and the separate tv lounge within the room was welcome and relaxing. The actual location is special in village location. Jonathan and team welcoming an helpful. Worth... More

We decided we needed a break after a difficult year and as we have often been to Devon, thought we would visit Dorset. Reading previous reviews for Abbey house made this our choice, and we were not disappointed. Can't praise it enough. The house nestles in a dip between rolling green hills and the sea is not too far away.... More

This was a return visit to this excellent establishment in a picture post card village. The day was sunny and the garden environment idyllic for all of us (including the family parrot who was made particulary welcome), The food is peerless, the service prompt and courteous with the above average wine list providing much needed oral lubrication. We are looking... More

My friend and I stayed here a couple of days ago. We shared the Benedictine room which was very comfortable with lovely views and extremely peaceful.. We only stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and very nice. We also had a light lunch on our first day. Very friendly staff and nice room... More

We were recommended The Abbey House Tea Room by the owner of the cottage that we were staying in. From the entrance we never guessed what treats were in store. As we walked round the building and into the garden we were greated by the most amazing setting we have ever seen. With amazing views of St.Catherines chapel and the... More

I stayed two nights at the Abbey House with my family of three. The location is unbeatable, it has a beautiful garden with a clear view of St Catherine's chapel up on the hill. We occupied the St Nicholas suite which was spacious enough for three adults - I liked that it had a small separate sitting room. Breakfast was... More

I say lunch treat, and it was, the food is lovely. Not at all overpriced considering the area, the competition and attraction to the location. I and my family really enjoyed the food and locality to the attractions. I really can't add anything else, except I relish my next visit and can only currently recommend the hot smokie haddock and... Came here a year ago and returned to show our son. Spent lovely lunch in the sunshine enjoying the garden. One large meal (Sea bass) and two snacks (Smoked haddock and sandwiches), all very nice. Could see pony rides and children laughing /playing in the barn attraction that this place overlooks.
