Stayed in room called Bluebell for 3 nights when the weather was hot, but it was always damp and the windows steamed up, probably because the side window cannot be opened. The taps in the wash basin were very hard to turn on and off properly. As there was no bath mat nor a drain in the floor, the bathroom... More

We stayed for two nights at this hotel. We were warmly greeted on arrival and asked to pay for our accommodation there and then which was a little unusual as we are more accustomed to paying our bill after a stay than before it… We stayed in the room called Clover. This overlooks the main road through Abbotsbury but we... More

Popped in on Saturday after 20 years. Food and beer as good as I had remembered. Only slight annoyance we had to chase one of our dishes as it had been forgotten. Beer garden improved with plenty of space for the dog.

Visited back in March with Ozzie our dog. The room was great, complete with bed for Ozzie. Add to this a bagful of treats and bowl of water meant a happy dog which put us at rest. The guys in the bar were great and very helpful. The food was good pub grub and the beer was excellent. Breakfast was... More

Staff were brilliant. Starter poor. Sunday roast lunch poor quality with things missing . Dessert was unedible. Such a shame as lovely setting. Would not eat here again but again could not fault the staff.

Decided to have an early evening meal whilst in the area recently and was not disappointed...............menu was varied to suit everybody and the staff very attentive. The view from the restaurant added to the surroundings owing to the location in the village.

Flies everywhere (never a good sign for a food establishment), no one wanting to acknowledge us - let alone serve us - couldn’t get into our room until 5pm (check in was 3) and they stopped serving food at 6. Not great. This place needs a little help, and more people. When I eventually did manage to speak to someone,... More

We stayed here for 2 nights as we were attending a family wedding in the area. We booked the Charlotte Suite, which is a lovely room overlooking the gardens and view over the hills. Nicely furnished, huge bathroom and tea and coffee facilities and water all made for a lovely stay. We had dinner on the Friday night as part... More

Very tired-looking furniture. No hand-rail when stepping out of shower. Breakfast supposed to be from 8am, but we were served 50 mins late because chef hadn't turned up! To crown it , all breakfast was completely over cooked and inedible! Never again!!!
