Having read a lot of comments on Trip advisor i was concerned about taking a group of 51 people to this hotel, once we arrived even though it was late they catered for the group very very well, first impressions were good. I had a few issues with my room which were quickly resolved so i retired to my bed...

The hotel staff were lovely, couldn't fault them. I must warn you, setting your clocks back 60 years would be a good idea, the decor is 'classic' for want of a better word. That said it was clean and tidy, warm and friendly, the bed was bliss. I would stay here again for sure.

Had a lovely stay here. Yes it has dated decor, and furnishing. But, everything is clean and tidy, the bed was comfy, linen and towels were clean. Breakfast, was buffet style, and to be perfectly honest was tasty. This hotel does what it says on the tin. If you you want 5stars look else where. If you want a comfy...

This hotel has more than likely been owned by the same people for some years and they are set in their ways! The guest rooms are dated, unclean and in huge need of renovation. Even the wall paper was trying to get away! There were screws sticking out from the wall, the windows let all the cold air in so...

Stayed here as an impromptu New Year's Eve location with the mrs. After trying to surprise her with a night away - it's safe to say that I'm no longer allowed to book hotels. We arrived to what I think was either Karaoke or a cat being murdered with a rusty chainsaw - I was too scared to check. The...

Shocking hotel, very tired and dirty from the outside. Awful inside, tiny bed, ripped linoleum in the bathroom, sliding old wooden door to minuscule bathroom. Small tv but huge old fashioned set, not flatscreen. Very tired throughout, tape over patches of carpet everywhere. View from window was flat roof at back of building. Can't believe it was so full there...

We are back from our third visit at christmas to the royal . The quality of the food was outstanding once again so was entertainment, the friendliness efficiency of all the staff throughout was tremendous. I cant understand how certain people go away on a trip to a budget hotel and try to find faults and take pictures, if you...

Clean bed linen, Nice breakfast, parking available, location for Woolacombe excellent. However décor tired, room very cold at night they turn the heating off at night. Shower room something from the 1970s grubby and shower not working properly. Needs a total revamp but what hotels have the money to do this nowadays. Balconies in a dreadful state.

Staff friendly , breakfast self service but tasty .Room very clean.View from hotel and dining room outstanding . These are reason for 3/5. Cheap but needs hotel needs updating to bring into 21st century. Ideal for short stay say 1/2 days. With a lot of money spent could be great hotel with position and view.
