We booked this as a very last minute 1 night seaside break. This was by far the cheapest hotel we could find with rooms available which was within walking distance to the shops, restaurants & beach of Woolacombe. Also there is free parking at this hotel which is what swayed it over other hotels. The hotel is around a 5... More

I booked this hotel as a same day last minute booking as wasn't intending to stay down after visiting my sister at Woolacombe Bay caravan park. We drove past the hotel and were getting desperate to find a room big enough for three adults so called as we drove past - We were charged £84 for a family room. We... More

Ths is a budget hotel on the outskirts of Woolacombe. It would have got a higher rating but the lift did not work, (and there was only one), also the swimming pool had poor changing facilities. Torn carpets in corridors. we stayed one week in a sea facing balcony room on the 3rd floor at furthest point from entrance. The... More

Booked 3 rooms to say for a family wedding nearby, the hotel is very dated I don't think it has been touched much since the early 70's. Disabled access is near impossible from the disabled parking to reception there are several steps to be negotiated even to get to the ground floor rooms you have to go up some steps... More

The Royal is definitely a budget hotel but after reading some pretty awful reviews I felt I had to post my positive one! The hotel provided a great base for me for 2 nites. Dated and tired decor but clean and tidy throughout. The room (for the price)is satisfactory with towels, soap, tea &coffee provided. Even extra pillows. Its mismatched... More

This hotel is living in the dark ages. After a five hour drive I was greeted at reception by a Rottweiler who took great pleasure in telling me I couldn't check in until 4pm when I had the audacity to attempt to check in at 3.10pm. The room was tired no air conditioning and the window didn t open. The... More

We stayed here for 4 nights with a David Urquhart coach trip. Yes, the lift is broken and its not the cold squeaky brand new place that a lot of hotels are these days, but get a room with a balcony and the views are fantastic. We woke up every morning looking out to a large green peninsular with grazing... More

We have recently returned from a 3 night trip at the Royal Hotel and it was a really enjoyable stay. We booked a family room and upgraded to a sea view room and I have to say the room was perfect. The views from the balcony were amazing and it was really nice having an outdoor space to dry our... More
