Stayed in a family room for 2 nights en route to Cornwall, the room itself looked like something out of the Cold War and I'm still not sure if I was brave or stupid to use the balcony, having said that the views from the balcony were stunning, staff friendly and the breakfasts very good, all in all, if someone put... Where do I begin... Upon arrival first impressions of the reception area was good quiet old fashioned. We were informed of the wifi and the password but told it only works in the lounge area and reception. Couldn't get wifi signal in the rooms or dining room. But we thought sod it can't be much else wrong. How wrong were... More

My mother is currently staying at this hotel with a coach trip of pensioners. She has been really looking forward but her holiday has been ruined as the lift doesn't work and the whole coach are struggling with the stairs. Sort it out.....

I'm not going to knock this hotel down anymore than it already has been . There are loads of problems all mentioned before in other very accurate reviews on here . The hotel is in serious need of investment . Staff were friendly , beds were comfortable and the self service breakfast wasn't too bad . It was ok for... More

Where do I start... I think a kind way to describe this place is something like Fawlty Towers. Nothing much appears to have changed or been upgraded since the 1980's. Everything is dated, there's a overwhelming stench of damp in some areas and there's clearly been some subsidence at some point. However, having read the reviews before arriving I was... More

Booked to stay two nights at this hotel but when we arrived found steep steps up to reception, no ramp for disabled and then found out the LIFT WASNT WORKING. As my husband has recently had a hip op & couldn't climb up to hotel we drove away! Hoping to get my deposit back!!

The worst hotel I have ever stayed. Over 20 steps to reach reception. Lift to various not working and had not been working for several months. Bathroom door did not fit door frame. The bath was very badly stained. Wallpaper was torn and missing in places. The patio door had been taped to stop draft and noise. The balcony floor... More

Short and simple, you'll be better off sleeping in a tent. Had one night here and was awful. If you want to pay £90 a night to stay in a run down retirement home with lumpy beds and the cheapest breakfast ingredients anyone can buy, look no further.

It appears this hotel hasn't changed at all in 8 years - even the wallpaper (that comes off in one sheet it is that damp) hasn't changed. A really disgusting place and the only aceptable thing was the breakfast. Don't spoil your trip by staying here, pay a few extra quid and get somewhere half decent - especially if you... More
