Booked a luxury sea view room, you pay extra but the view is lovely. The room has been updated, lovely walk in shower and bath. However felt it could do with some comforting touches, did have easy chairs but very low unable to sit in them and watch the view from the room. The room was situated above the bar,... More

The hotel is a nice 4 star, it is quite old fashioned in some respects but has some grand elements including the entrance lobby and restaurant. I was a little disappointed with the fit out of the brassier as it felt a little more like a weatherspoons than a decent 4 star hotel. There are great features including swimming pool,... More

We had been intending to stay at the Watersmeet Hotel but their punitive cancellation policy (liable for the full cost of the accommodation if you cancel within a fortnight of arrival even if they resell the room immediately) put us off. We therefore booked at the Woolacombe Bay Hotel instead and we were delighted that we did. The location is... More

stayed here a few years ago to see relatives nearby and always wanted to come back. Even though it is expensive, it is worth the treat! Such a gorgeous hotel, a traditional devon experience with amazing views over the lawn to the ocean. Lots to do in fine and damp weather with outdoor and indoor pools, library, gorgeous sitting rooms,... More

We have stayed at this hotel more times than we can count, going back to the 90s. There have been many changes & renovations over the years, but the hotel retains its original character & charm - and the location, just yards from the fabulous surfing beach, is second to none. We have just returned from a fabulous week and... More

Biggest hotel in area, been operating since 1880s. A very nice traditional hotel with lovely views over the sea. Food is extremely good, service also (2 restaurants). It is geared to providing a tremendous range of facilities for bad weather - indoor & outdoor swimming pools, sauna, steam room, excellent spa facilities, squash courts, pitch & putt, tennis courts, table... This was supposed to be a special birthday break. The hotel has an ideal location and attractive grounds. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant was good. However, our overall experience was spoilt by the rooms we were allocated. Having been initially allocated a very small allegedly-double room which we later discovered was often used... More

The hotel is good with clean rooms but a bit pricey considering no tea and coffee in room , no minibar. there are two restaurants but exact same menu which is quite limited. Breakfast was good. Our rooms were with a balcony but rooms small and dated. The indoor pool doesn't really have the capacity to cope with hotel numbers... More

Thank you very much for sharing your recent experience with us, I am disappointed that you mention that there was no tea/coffee facilities in your room as all rooms come with a kettle and the necessary accompaniments to make tea in your room. Sadly we do not provide a minibar but do have 24hr floor service to help with all... More

Lovely hotel situated in the beautiful Bay, we only called in for afternoon tea but had a good look around and it certainly was lovely. Would consider staying overnight on one of our trips back to Devon.

We booked the apartments as they allow dogs, unlike the hotel. The apartments are clean and comfortable with basic self catering facilities and equipment. You will need to take washing up liquid and spare bin bags etc. Overall we had a lovely few days - the apartments are located a 5 min walk from the hotel and you can use... More

Thank you for your comments, we are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay in our apartments. We also think that they are a great base for our guests and for those that wish to bring their dogs. Sadly we do not allow dogs on the hotel grounds just so that we are able to maintain the grounds for guest... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Much of the Hotel has been lovingly restored from the mid 1800's, creating it's unique and tranquil atmosphere. High ceilings, chandeliers and comfortable, quiet lounges are a testament to that era, and where first class modern amenities are required, they have been skilfully incorporated into the existing Woolacombe accommodation. We place high value on our staff. Trained to be attentive yet unobtrusive and to provide the kind of personal service that is so often hard to find. ... more   less
