My partner, Sharon and I visited Sampson Barton because we had to be in South Molton for a short visit on Saturday and we decided to make a weekend of it. I had booked on the web, and my first experience of Bev and Neil was a friendly email saying that they were looking forward to meeting us and confirming... More

Thanks so much for your wonderful review, we are bowled over by your comments and with the time and trouble you have taken to write about your stay. We're just really pleased that you enjoyed your weekend with us as it was a pleasure to have you here. The "folk session" was brilliant and we hope that you bring your... More

My husband and I recently stayed for 3 nights at Sampson Barton, attracted by the rural location and the promise of excellent food. We were certainly not disappointed. We were greeted by Neil, with a lovely tray of tea which was very welcome having navigated half the village to find our destination. Of course, if we had followed the instructions... More

The surroundings are lovely - up a hill on a quiet single track road, with views for miles from just up the road, and at night silent and no light pollution. Interesting villages nearby, hidden away in the hills. Try Kings Nympton and its church The house is old, décor is simple, a bit old fashioned (fine by us), everything... More

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at this delightful country retreat - greeted by very warm hosts Bev and Neil with a great cup of tea in their inviting living room. Our room was the cleanest we have ever experienced in a B and B with picture perfect views out of the windows. We had already planned our evening... More

An excellent one night stay. We were welcomed with scones, jam and cream and a pot of tea, which after a long journey was most appreciated. We had a delicious evening meal, and our breakfast of fresh fruit and a cooked meal was excellent. Your five star rating is well deserved.

We stayed at Sampson Barton Guest House for one night on our way to Cornwall. We arrived early and needed to get changed somewhere, and Bev was good enough to make us a pot of tea with biscuits while she got our room ready early. We were looked after throughout and were made to feel as if nothing would be... More

Stayed at the Sampson Barton guest house when visiting the area for a wedding. Arrived at 9pm on the Friday night so checked in and was advised that we could still get dinner down the road at the castle pub, which was excellent. The B&B was superb, so quiet and peaceful, and our room was a good size and very... More

We arrived after a long journey from Brighton, to be greeted with tea and scones (freshly warmed from the oven!) and we knew we were onto a winner. Breakfasts were first class, and the entire guest house was clean yet cosy. It is out in the middle of beautiful countryside, so takes a while to get everywhere but worth it... More
