Worth a visit for the building but if you do go then stay away from the coffee which is very weak instant and the chips, as ours where very greasy. Also they have spent a fortune on the women's toilet yet for the men's you have to go outside and around the side of the pub where there's an entrance... More

It is rare that you get more than one or two vegetarian options on a typical pub grub menu. Not here. A real treat to have a good few things to choose from, thanks to the friendly landlady. She even recommended us a local dog walk. Oh, and the pub itself it is a real curiosity. Wacky both inside and... More

Thank you for your comments. C0ffee point duly noted and we are in the process of changing our coffee making facilities. Sorry we are unlikely to see you again but that is your prerogative. We do have some great fun here with our customers actually. More

What an amazingly quirky inn. Old timber beams overhead, totems of various origins, curio's, oddities and even the odd chair or two. The old adage goes that he who puts a coin in a cranny of the inn had a wish fulfilled. The food is home cooked and tastes great, i personally would suggest the steak pie. As any pub... More

This thirteenth century inn is well worth a visit as it is a truly unique old inn and feels full of stories and history. Ok for a drink and some fascinating people watching too but the food is worth a miss. I definitely suggest visiting for a drink and a look round but eat elsewhere.

We have been here many times before, staying overnight a number of times and stopping just for a drink at others. We were lucky to get the Angel Room for the night. Incredible place with untold treasures everywhere. The room itself was filled with angels, a 4 poster bed and very comfortable. The pub is stunning and well worth stopping... More

Sorry I missed you two, Claire and James. Glad you enjoyed your stay and the inn bewitched you a little and has retained its magic. Bruce cooks me some lovely vegan stuff and I love all that. He charmed me with his tofu special many moons ago! Best Wishes to you both. SallyT More
