My wife and I stayed here last night. Our friend also stayed here. The owners could not have been nicer. We would have rated it higher but we had to share a bathroom. Very old home with lots of history. Nice, quiet location. The breakfast was very good - especially the sausages.

Another excellent stay in The Fathings B&B. This time a 2 night stay to visit relations around the area. Breakfasts were pre-booked the evening before and were cooked fresh and enjoyable. Diane and Dave were excellent hosts throughout our stay.

Great stay and with Superb Hospitality at the Farthings B&B in this old historic building. Comfortable warm bed and clean sheets in a well-presented room. Shower and on-suit very well done out with piping hot water.

Shaldon really is a lovely place and we were delighted to have been able to stay at Farthings. This is a beautifully appointed but extremely homely and comfortable house. Our room and breakfast were absolutely superb, as were our hosts, who were so friendly and a delight to chat to. I think we may have to pay a return visit.

We managed to get in to the Farthings at last minute due to cancellation of an original booking elsewhere and how lucky we were! The Farthings is a lovely traditional B&B, we had a double room and a twin room (2 adults and 2 children) which suited us fine for one night. The rooms were very clean, with all you would need. Shared bathroom but we seemed to have single use which was great. We were able to park just down the street from the B&B and the walk into town is an easy 5-10 minutes. The owners are really lovely people, very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was the best part, we were seated in a lovely dining room with plenty on offer prior to the arrival of the cooked breakfast. The breakfast was really good, especially the scrambled eggs (secret receipy apparently). Thanks for having us we really enjoyed our stay.

Farthings B&B is a lovely place (very original Georgian) run by lovely people. Our room was immaculate and full of character, the bed hugely comfortable and the breakfast(s) superb. Our hosts could not have done more for us; they were extremely welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be returning. Shaldon itself is a really pretty town with plenty of places to eat and walk. Most house owners seem to be really into gardening. We recommend taking the ferry (the oldest in Britain) over to Teignmouth and then doing a further boat trip down the coast with Riviera Cruises (right next to the ferry drop off point).

This review is written for my partner who visited Shaldon, her childhood village originally. Her visit to the Fathings B&B was a delightful stay at this local village home. She felt a home from home atmosphere and was catered for excellently. They even allowed her sister come and have a nice afternoon in the garden together. Room was excellent and breakfasts cooked to perfection. She has already booked another stay in October when visiting Shaldon again.

This review is a little belated but wanted to leave it as we had such an enjoyable stay. We stayed at Farthings in late July/early Aug, it is a charming property full of lots of character and the hosts could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. The breakfasts were delicious and more than enough to set us up for the day! A short walk into town where there are pubs, cafes and restaurants and activities such as the zoo and ferry crossing to Teignmouth. We would not hesitate to return again.

Stayed here in late September to do some fishing on the river Teign. Nice room and full of character. Not near the centre of town so need to drive to get to shops and restaurants but I knew that when I booked. Amazing breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Even in these strange times we were made to feel very welcome and safe. Social distancing and wearing of masks adhered to. The hosts are exceptional and think nothing of going the extra mile. Bed in ensuite is the most comfortable bed I have slept in. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Highly recommended.
