The position of The Ness is brilliant looking out over the estuary. But unfortunately our room was at the back and we had no view. However this did not detract from a beach themed room which was lovely. The welcoming staff were brilliant. The restaurant staff very good. The food was good.

1. Waiting staff "forgot" to give us the sandwich menu so we had to find light lunch choices from the main meal menu. Others around us subsequently enjoyed their sandwiches. 2. Food for eight came out at different times over 15 minutes. Halfway through serving food to our table the waitress started serving two other tables. 3. The sign saying...

Decided as it was nice weather to lunch outside on the terrace at The Ness. The Sandwich and Lite Bites Menu was hidden under the main menus (good sales ploy). There was a good selection of meals available and the Staff were happy and friendly. The food arrived soon after ordered, as ordered! I note that they use bread made...

Decided to go for an evening meal at the Ness hotel Restaurant Shaldon. Ordered drinks & asked if table available, young man very condescending & I quote "menu for madame & menu for sir" but ignored it. Ordered sharing starter & said we'd keep the rest to have with main meal...40 minutes later & 3 couples who arrived after us...

We stayed here for 2 nights and found the whole experience excellent. We ate at The Ness one evening and had breakfast there twice, the staff were polite and efficient and food was superb. Our room was clean and had a lovely view over the bay to Teignmouth. Parking on site is limited but there is a large pay and...

Stayed here a couple of times in the spring and winter. On both occasions in room 2 a fabulous room with great sea views and a fantastic copper bath very very relaxing. The bar/restaurant has a wonderful country house feel. Food here is pretty standard though nothing bad but nothing outstanding. Breakfast is fine and substantial with some nice touches....
