We only stayed a night but we're very impressed. The staff were delightful, the food was great as was the room. Unfortunately TripAdvisor as the arbiter of all reviews insist that I say more so I have to add that the price was good too

I have stayed at the Arundell Arms Hotel for short visits over a number of years. The rooms are of high quality and well equipped. Dining in the restaurant is always a great pleasure. The new decor is bright and cheerful. The cuisine is outstanding. On our recent visit my wife and I both agreed that the food is at... More

Rather bland exterior. Automatic front doors (nice if you've got luggage). Functional reception. Bad: Perfectly polite receptionist efficiently directed me to my room without offering to help with luggage. Average: Room and bathroom were decent, clean, reasonably well appointed. Can't complain at this level. Excellent: Food, waiting staff and comfort before during and after. Conclusion: Worth staying at for the... More

We have spent a lovely couple of days staying at the Arundell Arms. We have eaten far too much but it was impossible to resist. The 5 course tasting menu was delicious, and the panna cotta with saffron infused pears was fabulous, in fact it is wrong to single out one thing because everything tasted so good.

We stayed here en route to meeting up with our family in Cornwall. The check-in was friendly, efficient and informative. We had booked a 2 night break, with the tasting menu included on one of the nights, together with a pre- dinner glass of champagne. The food was of excellent quality, the 5 courses giving the chef ample opportunity to... More

We regularly eat at this cosy sporting hotel and I can honestly say, hand on heart, we have never had a bad meal there. Their Sunday lunch is always delicious and plenty of it, with generous portions of vegetables. The ambience is one of country chic and comfort with pleasant fellow guests, while being dog friendly makes it even more... More

The Arundell Arms is our favourite stop for lunch en-route to holidays in Cornwall as it is so consistently reliable. Today was no exception, excellent Tomato and Pepper Soup and Grilled Goats Cheese Salad were very tasty and freshly prepared. Staff very friendly and service excellent. See you next time!

The Arundel Arms is a lovely hotel. However, it just doesn’t quite live up to the expectation. On arrival, the receptionist was on the phone and thrust a form in front of us. We were given the keys to the room, but no directions to the bar or restaurant. The room was small and outdated. The bathroom in desperate need... More

Just spent 2 nights at this delightful hotel. Room clean and comfortable, food delicious, staff helpful and friendly along with free wifi and car park. Wonderful Devon views from our room. We were celebrating my birthday, and many of the staff greeted me on the day, with my dessert having 'happy birthday ' written on it in chocolate! A very... More
