Went back with my husband 30 years after he first went their. He did some fly fishing for a couple of days, and the rest of the time we went sight seeing. In all we spent a week here. We stayed in the cottage with our dog, quite basic but acceptable, but the carpet in the main double bedroom was... More

Stayed here on a fishing trip for a couple of nights. Could not fault the service, in particular, Kate and Liam who were super efficient. Room was clean although could probably have done with a facelift but was perfectly reasonable and comfortable. The food offering though is a bit of a mixed bag. The restaurant a la carte menu was... This hotel is almost as perfect as one can get. We had a large bedroom, nicely decorated with a very comfortable king-size bed. (the duvet we thought was a bit too warm). A well appointed bathroom with powerful shower. Also an excellent collection of various teas and coffee and yummy 'home-made'biscuits.. Nice dressing gowns provided. Our dog came with us... More

Our 3-day stay at the Arundell Arms was very enjoyable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and we ate at the hotel for breakfasts and 2 evening meals. Our stay was on a special rate which included a 5 course taster menu dinner, with tailored wines for each course, on one night of the stay. We so enjoyed... More

A delightful hotel set in the middle of a small town that offers fishing and shooting for those that enjoy that sort of thing. We had a lovely couple of days here, although I was expecting the hotel to be in a country setting on the river and not on the main high street. They have access to fishing on... More

I've been visiting this place for over 20 years - mainly to fish. The bar is great and the bar menu tasty if a little pricey, but good enough such that I have never eaten in the restaurant. Good wine list. Breakfasts are great. The bedrooms are a bit tired, could do with a revamp and are expensive. If you're... More

The hotel when we visited seamed to be going through a bit of an update, with some of the buildings having a new roof and perhaps internal renewals, the room we had was adequate , but in places need a little maintenance, the sunken Celine lights were hanging down the liquid soap in the bath was far too high to... Lovely place. The food was fantastic, rooms clean and well equipped. A few loose shower fittings let the almost 100% attention to detail down a little, so easily put right too. We stayed in room 17 which had great views across the valley to the south of town. Our first night was overshadowed by a horrendous low droning noise outside... More

My husband has been coming fishing here for years, sometimes with a friend, sometimes alone. The hotel always look after him so well; they provide reasonably priced accommodation of a very high standard, packed lunches with flask if requested for fishing/shooting, well trained staff who make you feel at home and will accommodate wishes where possible, they definitely have a... Lovely old hotel that has retained all its charm. Pleasant staff throughout an although not modern, the bedrooms are clean and well maintained. Has a restaurant but also a pub next door that sells fresh, well priced food and ale. Small village that attracts fishing and shooting parties. Nice to relax in the secret garden and ample free parking.
