My Wife and I fancied a long week-end break and having already stayed at a couple of other Coast and Country Hotels in the recent past decided to give their Hotel in Exmouth (The Imperial) the benefit of our custom. It was excellent and very, very good value for money. We went half board and only had the one (for...

We stayed for two nights because we had been let down by another hotel. Wow what a good decision. Newly refurbished pleasant staff we were so happy. Our room 203 was a double bedded corner room. It was so pleasant, spotlessly clean room with double aspect windows and a modern bathroom with bath and efficient shower. The hospitality was well...

We have been here before probably about three or four years ago and as I remember the rooms were somewhat tired. Not so now Coast and Country have done a great job modernising whilst managing to retain the more clasic features. Even the lift seemed new albeit there was a somewhat bizarre route involving lift then up some stairs and...

Nice 4 day break in Exmouth. Hotel was typical Shearings but obviously quite recently renovated. Staff were excellent as was the food. great location for walks and decent town centre to shop in. Exeter with its big name shops is a short train journey and at £4.60 return its not worth driving

We had a second floor room in the modern block for a bed and breakfast rate last weekend. Very clean and quiet, nice bathroom, good heating. Reception staff were rather unforthcoming. Breakfast was basic but freshly cooked and plentiful. The real downside was the smell of air freshener which was plugged into every plug in the public space. And no...

Dear Georgina, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am sorry to hear you thought the Reception Team were unforthcoming as they are normally very warm, welcoming, friendly and helpful but I will look into this. There is no real fire in the Bar due to there being no chimney. While I appreciate your views on...

We arrived at the Imperial in Exmouth in Devon on November 28th. We were located on the second floor which could be reached by a lift, but then to reach our room we had to descend stairs, to the second floor. Not good if you have mobility issues. On reaching the room we found it to be very cold, so...

Dear Monica, Thank you for your feedback. On booking the hotel, the person dealing with the reservation would have asked about access and mobility needs and from the there we would allocate a room suited to there needs. On checking the rooms radiator the maintenance man could see that the thermostat had not been engaged to the highest temperature. I...

Once again we took off from the North Sea coast to experience someone else's bit of sea! Hotel has plenty of free car parking, is on bus and train routes and has pleasant gardens at the front leading down to the promenade on the Exe estuary. Beautifully furnished public rooms, bedrooms and shower room; just the one lift however; food...
