Bed very comfortable, room immaculate, food delicious, location idyllic, staff delightful and competent and attention to detail meticulous. Huw and Sam have everything "just right". This was our second visit and we will most certainly return.

Delightful country setting with the friendliest staff imaginable. Nice walks and countryside are nearby. Rooms are large and airy and dining room is fit for a period drama. Varied and tasty menu is all part of the package.

A comfortable, tastefully furnished small hotel. We were made to feel welcome and valued at all times. All four of us enjoyed the delicious food and presentation. Lots of places to relax, inside and out. Excellent spot for those seeking quiet and relaxation and/or good walks.

This was booked as a surprise for my wife on our 30th wedding anniversary. From when we arrived to when we left we could not fault this hotel. Sam and Huw were fantastic, they were warm and friendly like we had been many times before, what more could we ask for. The food was excellent, the lovely afternoon tea, the... More

Fabulous room (Watersmeet in the Coach House), fabulous food, fabulous location with wonderful circular walks on some of the most spectacular bits of the south west coastal path, and fabulous hosts and staff. Do yourself a favour and go and stay there.

We booked last minute (on the day) and Huw and Sam were very welcoming. The venue, room, food and service was fantastic. We would highly recommend coming here and it's also exploring the local coastline - beautiful!

Just returned from our 5th visit to The Old Rectory Hotel. Everything I've said in my previous reviews holds true: it's situated in the most beautiful part of Devon; the food is delicious; the rooms are elegant and comfortable and there are dozens of fantastic walks close by. I've also previously recommended our favourite room (Watersmeet - very comfortable and... More

Perfect for a long weekend. The room was fabulous with really comfortable bed. Afternoon tea and pre-dinner drinks and canapés in the orangerie felt like a real treat!
