Our first visit to the Old Rectory Hotel. Comfortable room and very peaceful. Pre dinner canapes in the lovely conservatory and a great atmosphere in the cosy restaurant. The four course dinner was delicious, with good wines. Thank you Sam and Huw for being great hosts. We look forward to our next visit.

Absolutely delightful - relaxed, friendly and some really nice touches for our special occasion. The idea of all guests dining at about the same time really works well as there is a great atmosphere in the dining room. Food excellent, not fussy or pretentious, just simple and delicious.

Having stayed at The Old Rectory four times now, we have found that Huw and Sam are just as welcoming and keep up their very high standards each year. The hotel is quiet; very well kept, the food is excellent and the wine list is good. It is in a beautiful part of North Devon, good for walking and near... More

The Old Rectory is an excellent small hotel offering first class food, wine and service. It really cannot be faulted. Huw and Sam work very hard to make sure that every need is catered for. Lovely walks and local places of interest to visit. An all round super stay.

We enjoyed a most relaxing holiday at The Old Rectory. Sam and Huw offered such a warm welcome - their knowledge of the local area and also their expert friendly service, especially during our meals ensured that a consistently high level of care and attention was maintained throughout our five night stay.
