We have been coming to this wonderful place since Sam and Huw took over and it is still a fantastic bolt hole to relax and unwind. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Sam and Huw. They are wonderful hosts and have created a hotel that is a real pleasure to stay in. We really enjoy the food and wine... More

A wonderful calm and relaxing location. Lots to do if you wish, local walks with exquisite views, good pubs and NT properties to explore. It was lovely to appreciate the gardens of the hotel with afternoon tea and cake, or enjoy the sunny orangery. Sam And Huw looked after us amazingly well.

We have just had a three night break at The Old Rectory and our stay couldn't have been better. I consider myself quite fussy with hotels but I can only think of good things to say. The room, service and food were everything we could ask for. It is unusual to have one sitting for dinner and all eating at the... More

As regulars here we continue to be impressed by the warmth of the welcome and maintenance of the high standards of standards. Makes one feel like a family member rather than a hotel guest. Interaction with fellow guests at pre dinner drinks and canapés is a real plus.

A wonderful 2nd visit to the ORH. Sam and Huw have used all the right ingredients to create a perfect bolt hole in a lovely location. The public rooms are very comfortable, and the ambience is that of a friendly and relaxing house party. The evening dinners are exceptional.

We finally stayed at this hotel and it was excellent. We wished we had stayed before! Huw is an excellent host and it is great having a gin menu, with some locally made as well as those from further afield. Dinner is served for all the guests at a set time, and you are encouraged to meet in the orangerie... More

Fantastic hidden gem. Great food, lovely comfortable hotel. Huw and Sam were superb hosts. All surrounded by beautiful countryside. Would certainly have no hesitation in returning or recommending to others.
