Lovely welcome with tea and cake.Great location with good views of the countryside. Nice couple who liked a chat. Room is a decent size although a bit dated but don't let that put you off. Only small fault was the shower was only adequate, comfortable beds though.

The hosts, and venue, were lovely. Breakfast was a delight and the hosts were very informative about the region. Nice pubs nearby serving delicious evening meals. Exford is situated in beautiful countryside, and also has the bonus, on a clear night, of being a Dark Sky Reserve, the stars looked so close you felt you could reach out and touch... More

Arrived late, the owners kindly left a key for us. I went to my room, opened the door only to find that it had not been made ready. No sheets. 1 pillow, rolled up duvet. All poor quality. Towels grey and unironed. The owners took £5.00 off the bill. Breakfast was just about OK. No, I will not be returning.... More

The landlady did us a good deal as we dropped in unannounced. I had a single room ,all clean and tidy with its own shower. My Mum had a double. Unfortunately she overlooked the kennels on a Full Moon and they howled at 3am. We had been warned by the barman at the White Horse in Exford that the hounds... More

We spent one night at Stockleigh Lodge on a quick getaway to Exmoor. The central location is ideal for exploring the countryside and there are places to eat within walking distance. The twin room was spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Breakfast home cooked and delicious. Welcoming hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Stabling is available for those wishing to enjoy... Stayed for a couple of nights whilst shooting nearby. Lovely hosts which made the stay. No tv in the room was a bit of a nuisance when your on your own. There was a large lounge which looked nice but was very cold. However I was the only guest, I'm sure would be warmer and more welcoming with more guests... More
