Very friendly country inn, with a warm welcome, good food along and a cosy fire. Our room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. The vegetarian main course was slightly disappointing but everything else could not be faulted. All very reasonably priced and in a location if you enjoy walking that could not be better.

Arrived mid afternoon and quickly checked in and shown to our room. The initial impressions were good. A lovely country pub feel, old world charm, beams, cosy areas and wood burning fire. The pub itself is located in an isolated area but is a favourite venue for walkers. After settling into our room we headed down to the bar for...

Rockford Inn in the Exmoor area:This is our sixth trip back to our favorite Inn in the UK. On this particular visit we stayed for 12 days and walked about 100 miles. In all of our 6 visits we estimated that we walked over 1000 miles in the Exmoor area alone. And with the many trails (coastal, river, moors, forests,...

Thank you Hoadsters for your kind review. What can I say to that other than it is a total pleasure to have your company each and every time you stay. The fact that you travel over 3500 miles to get to us is truly humbling and we are so much looking forward to your return in March.

This place tends to get under your skin.. We've been three times, and my partner is someone who never visits the same place more than once ("There's so much else to see!") Which rather says it all. Cathryn (sp?) and Sarah are people who have clearly found exactly their niches. The welcome is always warm and genuine, which is a...

Came here a few years ago and absolutely loved it. I was worried it wouldn't live up to our memories but shouldn't have worried. Friendly, relaxing, convivial. Great food including fab breakfasts, and all for a very reasonable price. One of my favourite walks ever takes in the lovely, rushing river and surrounding forest, then some time looking around Lynmouth,...

This Inn was set in a remote valley in Exmoor yet only 6 miles from the coast. It was very relaxed and welcoming. The room was homely, comfortable with all we needed for our stay. The food was excellent, very tasty and great value and went well with the local cider. Some good walking routes from the front door. Staff...

An enchanting pub with exceptionally good customer service and comfortable rooms, which ticks every box. Highly recommended for a relaxing break away (or a good local craft ale) in an authentic and beautiful Exmoor setting.

It's about an hours drive for us to get to Rockford but always worth it. We tend to park up, usually, at Countisbury and make The Rockford Inn our half way stopping point for a pub lunch. Usually visit 3 or 4 times a year and have always enjoyed the excellent food, beer and hospitality provided. Cotleigh beers from the...
