A truly out of the way location down a lane off the road to Dittisham village. We stayed in a Shepherds Lodge which was ideal for a couple. It was very warm and comfortable and well appointed with lots of little niceties thrown in; such things always make a good impression. The lodge had a wood fire and an external hot tub as well as an outdoor seating area overlooking fields with only the rippling of a stream to be heard.

We had an amazing trip to Dittisham Hideaway with our dog - we stayed in one of the Shepherds huts, it was incredible! The accommodation had absolutely everything you could possibly want - we had a beautiful view over the valley and the wood fired hot tub was such a fun experience. There are loads of walks and several pubs nearby which are dog friendly. We can’t wait to return!

We stayed in one of the Shepherds huts, fabulous location, literally the only thing we could hear in the evening was the local tawny owl in the neighbouring wood! The hut itself was decorated to a high standard and was extremely clean and the bed was super comfy. The welcome hamper was adequately stocked and the sloe gin was a nice touch!Unfortunately we were unable to use the hot tub as the wood that was provided was damp, and spent 2 evenings trying to get it warm and couldn’t which was very disappointing. Overall a lovely break and we would definitely recommend.

Good Morning, Thank you for spending the time to leave us a review and pleased to read you loved the location, the peace and quiet and the high standard we offer at Dittisham Hideaway. I am sorry you were unable to use the hot tub due to wet logs, we do our upmost to keep them stored in a dry place, however with the increase of rainfall these past few weeks this has been tricky. Next time please do give us a call and we would be able to change the logs for you. We would love to see you return and please do recommend to friends and family. Many thanks Tamsin Cornforth Dittisham Hideaway

What a lovely location and truly beautiful in terms of being able to get away from a noisy town and couldn’t fault where it’s located. Expected a little more in the way of luxury to be honest for the price we are paying. The bathroom area in particular seems to have been overlooked, shower doesn’t drain away properly, just 2 toilet rolls for 2 bathrooms which was really thin, if you say essential toiletries expect that to include shampoo and condition. No hand towel in toilet area and bath towels were the size of hand towels. As for the luxury bed linen, it was ok but as for the pillows so soft you really need to revisit those. Sorry but overall disappointed.

We stayed at Dittisham Hideaway’s American Airstream for the weekend with our dogs and we had a fantastic time. It comes with a separate plot of land so the area is nicely secluded and the patio comes with a BBQ, table football, chess, sun loungers… and the Airstream itself is very stylish and it is way more spacious than you’d think! They really thought of all the little details and the hamper came with quality items like fresh bread, muesli, crisps, milk, and more; and for the pups some bowls, a tennis ball, treats and a dog bed. A fantastic stay, thank you so much for having us.

Wow! Stayed in the airstream. Just amazing. Kitted out with everything you need. We loved the goody basket. It was so nice to be in peaceful, private setting. Great outdoor space - loved the wood fired hot tub. Not far to walk to Dittisham or a short drive to Dartmouth. I think we may try a treehouse next.

Dittisham Hideaway - what a lovely surprise! We stayed in the 1956 American Airstream. It had all the bells and whistles anyone could ask for. The welcome basket was full of goodies, the accommodation neat, tidy, and clean. The outside facilities were great where we could soak up the sun, nature, and our surroundings surprisingly private. I absolutely loved stoking the outdoor bath daily and being able to enjoy a barbecue each day was a bonus! Dittisham Hideaway has everything you need and the complimentary ferry ticket to Greenway was a bonus! I would recommend them any day!

Hi 'tinabW8401UV', Thank you for your lovey review and i'm glad you chose us as your holiday destination. The Airstream is great with its own private parking and decking area, it would feel like you were alone at the Hideway with hardly any noise other than tractors, birds and the nearby stream. Our tubs we have found are great heated or even for a cold dip! We are delighted you took up our complimentary Ferry pass to Greenway, with Agatha Christies house nearby what a great day out. Thanks for staying with us and being able to recommend us to others also. Kind Regards, Tamsin Cornforth, Dittisham Hideaway

A lovely 2 night break in the Beech hut. First time staying in a shepherds hut - very well decorated and lovely touches on arrival- welcome hamper, marshmallows for toasting, milk & butter, complimentary sloe gin and even for our fur ball - dog bed, dog treats, tennis ball and food/water bowls. Beds were lovely & comfortable - lovely crisp bed linen & towels provided and separate towels for the wood fired Japanese hot tub. The set up is lovely - quite private and amongst wild flowers. Patio area set up was lovely too - we were very fortunate with the weather.

Thank you 'Kashedden', as always we appreciate all our guests feedback. We are delighted to read that you and your fur ball enjoyed your stay in Beech Shepherds Lodge. We are lucky that our lodges are larger than usual, meaning you have much more space! The flowers really do make a wonderful appearance this time of year. We think our lodges are great both summer an d winter cosying up in a blanket on the patio or watching the log burner roar away. We hope to see you return in the not to distant future. Kind Regards, Tamsin Cornforth, Dittisham Hideaway

Out in the countryside but very convenient for Dartmouth (by car). The old guys at the Dartmouth museum were very entertaining and the National Trust house and gardens at Kingswear just perfect. We stayed in a cedar yurt 'tree house' which was lovely and very well equipped. Light filtering through the central skylight woke us gently in the mornings and the sheets were as nice as the blurb led is to expect. Although it was too wet to make much use of the lovely hammock it didn't prevent us from visiting lots of local attractions but would gladly have swapped the hot tub for a more comfortable sofa for the evenings. As most cafes and restaurants for miles around seemed to be limited to rolls, sandwiches and paninis, we were glad of our kitchen facilities and the local supermarkets being just a short drive away. So overall an enjoyable short break in quirky accommodation which would have been 5* but for a few small maintenance issues.
