We stayed in pheasant treehouse an wow what an experience! Party of two adults and 3 kids couldn’t of wished for a more stunning place every single part of the tree house was beautiful and to a very high standard, no corners was cut in the build decor and amenities!very cosy not over looked by anything but nature lovely little woodland walk on the grounds there’s a great round window in the centre of the treehouse looking up to the night sky football table on the deck kids loved! BBQ hot tub went down a treat too…everything was nice an strait forward getting booked lots of information when arrived and of course us adults realllly enjoyed the complimentary sloe gin after the long drive we had 💖there’s nice traditional pubs close by beaches we went to Blackpool sands and also spent a day at Dartmoor national park ( can’t recommend this enough for kids and adults) had so much fun! Over all this is definitely a 5* stay and I look forward to booking for next time! My only problem is that I wish we had booked a longer visit! Very special place where our family made some lovely memories so thank you 💖…
We have just returned from a fabulous trip with a 3 night stay in the American airstream caravan. The setting is lovely and so peaceful with only the sound of birdsong to disturb you. Facilities were excellent and the fittings and bedding/towelling etc were sumptuous. For a break away to unwind we would highly recommend a stay here with beautiful scenery.
We had the joy of staying here for 2 years running (2020/2021) and it was beautiful. However since under new ownership this year the new company have over doubled their prices after making some very small alterations. It’s now made it impossible for regulars to afford to stay again. I have tried to contact the new company about this only to receive a response saying they know what it takes to run a successful business. It goes to show the new management only care about the money the “hideaway” puts in their pocket. A real shame but hope those who can afford to go enjoy their experience and the ‘back to nature’ charm hasn’t been overshadowed too much.
Stayed at Buzzard in September 2020 and 2021 and was looking to return again this year as we loved it so much, however, it looks like it is now under new management and the price has risen by almost 3 times what we paid!! I've seen them described as treehouses and perhaps the reason for the price increase but they are yurts. Also seen that it sleeps 6, but it only has 1 double and a triple bunk bed with very limited space and perhaps more suitable for very young children but not over 10. Sadly, we won't be returning as it is now too expensive hence the low score.
Amazing location secluded enough to not hear traffic but only a short drive to Dartmouth and Dittisham and supermarkets like sainsbury and lidl. Perfect place to stay to relax and unwind, so peaceful and private. We stayed in the Buzzard cedar yurt which is the 2nd yurt you can make out from the car park. A short walk down and then back up the hill but nothing too major. The yurt itself is beautiful and private with a wood fired hot tub, all the kindling and wood have been provided and you help yourself to it. We lit ours when we arrived about 5pmish and we were sat in it by 9pm. The yurt itself is very well equipped and very comfortable. (nice comfy bed, two showers, two toilets full size fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, iron, hoover etc). To be honest we were very lucky with the weather but had it rained all week I'd have been happy in that yurt and hot tub all week. I felt completely safe as the gates to get in off the country lane are all coded and added security cameras keep watch. We didn't bump into anyone all week and the views and settings were lovely. Alfresco breakfast every day, hot tub every evening listening the owls, watching the stars and watching a very entertaining squirrel who likes to throw conkers from the trees. If you haven't been then I Highley recommend a stay here, there isn't a bad yurt to stop at and the owners have really catered for privacy and peace. I hope to return one day.... …
Wow. Honestly we were blown away with this Yurt. We stayed in the Pheasant Yurt and it exceeded all of our expectations. It looks exactly like the pictures on the website. It was fully supplied with all the essentials you need including a large fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. It was so clean and loved the open space and layout. Felt very peaceful and basically didn't see anyone during our stay. TV, WIFI and Bluetooth speaker all included and such a large comfy bed. There is a big skylight in the top if the Yurt that lets in a lot of light but as we went in November it got dark quite early. The only thing is the hot tub, it takes a long time to heat up. Initially took 12 hours to heat and then about 3 hours every day after that but worth it to sit in during the evenings. Lots of wood supplied free of charge, you just have to walk to the car park to get it (but it takes a whole wheelbarrow full of wood to get the hot tub hot). There are wheelbarrows provided to carry your things and the wood to the Yurt, which is on quite a steep hill and it took 2 of us to push the wheelbarrow up. Local beaches just a short drive away with a Sainsburys just 3 miles down the road. We will be back and 100% recommend staying here!…
We have just had a fabulous week in one of the Cedar Yurts (Buzzard). What can I say? they have thought of everything from endless supplies of wood and kindling for the hot tub and log burner, to loo rolls, soap, washing machine, dishwasher, iron, fully equipped kitchen, etc. Beautifully furnished and was spotless when we arrived. Make no mistake these things are huge, this is glamping and then some! It felt completely private in the middle of the trees, with gorgeous views across the fields. We barely saw another person and it's a great location for sightseeing in Dartmouth and Blackpool Sands is a must to visit. I am absolutely positive we will be back, what a great find! Thank you.
We have stayed in many a yurt, bell tent, Shepard’s hut and other forms of glamping but this place is a truly a great find in an area with so much to see and do. Far better value than hiring a cottage for the week. We stayed in pheasant yurt which felt like a penthouse in the trees and as good as any tree house i’ve stayed in across the world. Although it rained all week and thunder and lightning was severe one evening it didn’t stop us enjoying everything on offer. The standard of finish was high with no expense spared on our accommodation. We felt safe secure and at home for our brief stay which was over all too soon. We will certainly be telling family and friends to come and visit. Thank you
Little Combe Cottage is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed in this country. The surrounding gardens are beautiful, everything is high quality and immaculate. We stayed ( 4 adults and a 20 month old) at the end of May. Thank you Carol and Jeremy.
WE stayed in Owl Cedar yurt at the end of July and absolutely loved it. It is so well placed, so well equipped and beautifully decorated....they have everything you could think of and more! The hot tub was a pure delight even in in the heat we had there - as others have mentioned the first day it will take ages to heat up, but after that you're talking an hour to 1.5 hours max and its perfect. The setting is wonderful - high up in the trees, with a nice view (I imagine as the trees did cover most of it even to the front) Owl is in my opinion the most private of them all...although we will be trying Pheasant in 2 weeks time so will review that I think then, it is higher than Owl, but in Owl we couldn't see anything of it through the trees so I think it will be just as private. The wrap around balcony is wonderful in the summer evenings....we loved eating at the Anchestone cafe in Dittisham (which closes at 5:30) and then have a cheese board out on the deck before enjoying the hot tub afterwards. Its so surreal and wonderful. There were so many amazing things about our experience there, I am sure its a holiday that my kids will remember and cherish for a long time to come. WE have stayed in many unusual paces before and every other kind of glamping - this in in a league of its own, Its nothing like a yurt - its more of a luxury treehouse! And honestly even if it wasn't in the trees I haven't stayed in such a well equipped place before. I know that we will be returning every year - this is a place that my family will definitely want to see and enjoy again and again. I am so glad we found this place.…
