We visited the Marine Tavern a few times while we were staying in Dawlish. They don't serve food Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday which seems surprising so on those visits it was just a drink. However we did eat on the Thursday evening. The menu was a little limited, however when we got our food the portions were very generous and the food was... More

We happened upon the Marine Tavern whilst looking around Dawlish for somewhere to have some lunch. The upstairs terrace looked very inviting and we sat in the sunshine and enjoyed the view (this place is a must if you are a trainspotter!) We ordered two salads, tuna mayo and cheddar brie and stilton. When they came I can honestly say... More

We read the reviews from 2014/2015 and unfortunately it seems nothing has been done to this pub. We were planning on eating here as the food coming out looked great - but a visit to the ladies put me off There are really awful. There is a huge hole in the ceiling and they are grubby and nasty and really... More

I have stayed here several times and have loved it every time. Good beer, good food, warm welcome and good service. I had madras from the food menu and it was just right. The rooms are light, airy and warm overlooking the sea. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast is really good. The full English set us up for... More

My partner and I had visited this establishment last year. We had received a warm welcome and had a lovely lunch of pasty's. What a difference a year makes. We decided to visit again after a long walk. (We were hungry and looking forward to pasty's). The place was empty. The barmaid rather curtly informed us that food was only... More

This bar is hidden from view from the main road, but is a little gem. We chose this bar because we were staying at the Blenheim next door and was a dog friendly pub.We were made very welcome, the food was excellent and the Doombar was excellent. We even asked if ewe could order some sausages for our Lab and... More

We visited Dawlish for the day, as we were on holiday in Exmouth. I was with my husband, two children and my parents. I was excited to take my parents as they had never been to Dawlish. They loved Dawlish, thought we would look for somewhere to eat, so came across this place, with a sea view, we went in... More

Recently stayed in Dawlish at The Marine Tavern, lovely friendly people, nice big rooms with lovely sea views but oh dear the mattress in room 2 ouch definitely needs replacing urgently I had to abandon the hubster and sleep in the bunk bed in our room! Also the shower left a lot to be desired as it was hanging on... More

Although I can see its appeal to railway buffs there is more to it than that. We enjoyed lunch on the upper outdoor area, looking over the railway line to the wonderful views beyond. We came with low expectations, I hadn't been to Dawlish for about 50 years, and found it very changed, but we were hungry so decided to... More
