Having read other reviews before writing this I would go along with the very positive ones. We found the rooms good, the breakfasts extremely good, the staff and owners both friendly and accommodating. I can only assume that those who had problems were unlucky.

We have just stayed for 4 nights at Lyme Bay House in Dawlish and had a lovely time. Nikki and Ian were really friendly and helpful in recommending places to go. In fact, we visited West Bay in Bridport on the way home following Ian's suggestion and were very glad we did, it was a lovely place. Lyme Bay House... More

Staff hammered on the door because they wanted to clean the room. On return, the bin hadn't been emptied, the tea/coffee etc. had barely been topped up and the bed sheet that had accidentally had hot chocolate spilled on it had just been turned around so it didn't show, rather than changed. That sheet didn't get changed for the duration... More

Yes, as you say you did book a Double Room for Single Occupancy for your friend and you did spend a lot of time here with him. The “banging on the door” was to wake him at 0945 as requested so that he did not miss breakfast. That was what he asked for, in case he over-slept. The Housekeeping issues... More

It's a few minutes from the beach to the town and a about 10 to 20 minutes to Teignmouth or Exeter by train/bus. It's a good place to relax or shopping. And the owners are friendly and welcoming and helpful and the bedroom are a decision size

Yes we are ideally situated to explore the whole of South Devon, whether it is by car, bus or train. Many of our guests park their car in our Car Park and do not move it at all during their stay. They take advantage of the really excellent bus and train services which are both very close by. The railway... More

Very comfortable room, bed was comfy, large shower in the en suite, which again was very roomy. Extremely clean hotel. Breakfast was huge, lots of lovely fresh fruit, yoghurts as well as full English breakfast. Nikki was great fun, very welcoming, great few days away. Would highly recommend and will go back

Yes the beds really are very comfortable and some rooms have the extra large Super Kingsize (6 foot wide and 6 foot 6 inches long) with pocket-spring mattresses. We are so pleased that you had a fun time with us. Thank you very much for your company. Please do come again sometime. Regards Nikki & Ian More

We stayed for one night and were very well looked after. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was second to none with an amazing selection, and the full English was delicious and it was certainly service with a smile! I would love to stay here again for a longer period of time.

I stayed the weekend at the Lyme Bay Guest House in Dawlish over the May bank holiday weekend. I travel every week for work so I consider myself to be picky when it comes to staying in hotels, motels, and the like. I had the opportunity to escape from London for the weekend and headed to Dawlish (picked it out... More

We stayed for one night. Nikki, the owner, is very helpful seeming to know everything about the area! The B&B is tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. The great bonus is the off road parking with a space for each room.

Yes you are quite right about our Car Park. It really is a bonus especially during the very busy summer months as parking in Dawlish itself is scarce. With us only being a few minutes walk into town there is really no need to take the car with you. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your short stay with... More

Stayed here for 3 nights and we found the owners Ian & Nikki very welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much bother. The room was warm, comfortable, clean and tidy. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Our dog Charlie was also made welcome, we will definitely stay here again in the future. Paul, Tracy & (Charlie)
