The hotel has recently been redecorated. It is in a quiet and beautiful location on the moors, which adds to the relaxing atmosphere. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Dinner should not be missed, imaginative menu with locally sourced ingredients. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. As mentioned in the advertisements it is 'dog friendly' however when we... More

Absolutely sublime surroundings. Friendly and welcoming staff and casual atmosphere. We felt completely at home here and were sad to leave. Breathtakingly beautiful scenery and lovely walks just outside the door. Dining (breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea) was delicious without being overly fussy. We especially loved eating off of the handmade ceramic plates.

An average hotel, stuffy attic room with a poor view. A greasy breakfast covered in rosemary! Certainly room for improvement.cut the grass, repair the potholes on the drive.on the plus side Very pleasant staff. Very dog friendly.

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy all aspects of your stay with us at Prince Hall Hotel. The lawn has since been cut, but at the time of your visit all the buttercups were out. Kindest Regards Nadine More

What an amazingly beautiful and restful place! If you like dogs this will be utopia for you, the vista from the hotel is beautiful, the location quiet and ideal for a retreat from it all. Perfect location for walking straight onto the moors. The hotel is super nice, we stayed in the four poster room which was huge with a... More

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and had a lovey stay. This was a major treat and celebration for us so I had high expectations of what to expect considering we spent over £600 on the weekend (including lovely wine!) The food is wonderful, possibly the nicest food I've eaten in a long while! Great chefs who are incredibly talented... More

Lovely place and nice staff but I was horrified at what I had to pay for the afternoon tea I found the teacake very heavy but reasonable to eat. I would not return for afternoon tea. Maybe it is cheaper to have a meal

I'm sorry to hear this. Following your comments we have perfected the recipe for our tea cakes and they still remain rather popular with our guests, as do the scones we offer with our famous Devonshire Cream Tea and Afternoon Tea. Thank you for your comments Regards Nadine More

Excellent service, amazing food, homely lounge, and great room made it so easy to have a lovely relaxing weekend. Lots of great walks nearby for the dog (who was utterly spoiled) and us. Couldn't fault it, will be returning!

The hotel has 3 wonderful attributes, its location in the moor, how Dog Friendly it is in lots of different ways and the haute cuisine, which made our breakfasts and dinners a real delight. We were so impressed that as we left we booked again for next year. Highly recommended.

Staying locally for the week and went for our wedding anniversary. The feel of the house is more visiting friends in a laid back and friendly way - we should have brought the dog too. Fantastic food and great new gin menu. Refreshingly not trying to be 'something' the food speaks for itself and was the star of the show.... More

The food is excellent and has been every time we've stayed - presentation, cooking, flavours and tastes show the chef really does know his stuff. Plus the location - amazing and beautiful views, fabulous walks and total peace and quiet. And truly doggie friendly right down to the treats, blanket and poo bags in the bedroom Unfortunately much of the... More

I do apologize for the loose tap, this issue is now being addressed. With regards to the blind in the room, I have checked them and they appear to be in good working order and also a good fit to the window. The carpets have been replaced in Houndtor and Burrator, but unfortunately the fitters ran out of time and... More
