We were visiting Devon with friends and said we knew a lovely farm that does afternoon tea on Dartmoor. Off we went only to find it was closed. Good old sat nav points of interest found a few others locally. We went to the first one on the list again it was closed the second was Prince Hall Hotel. After...

Enjoyed a wonderful stay in Houndtor room - fabulous views of the moor. Teenage son slept on double sofa bed but room is enormous so plenty of space for us plus dog. Our dog thoroughly welcomed with dog bowl and treats and invitation to obtain dog cover for bed if we needed one (we did!). Good food especially breakfast. Lovely...

We didn't expect to find this gem in the middle of Dartmoor. What a great drive around Dartmoor and then this small sign to the left and then down the fields and then a few corners and we found this expanse of a hotel with gorgeous field/gardens. Coming into the house hall, the check in place is on the right...

From arrival to departure, the stay is one of Welcome and care. A lounge where the dogs can curl up, next to the woodburner, a dining room for owners who wish to keep their dogs with them, large rooms (we stayed in Hay Tor) with views over the moors, and fresh milk available, when making a drink in your room!...

We've stayed at the Prince Hall a good number of times now and keep returning for the location, friendly and helpful staff and stunningly good food. Its incredibly dog friendly; right in the centre of Dartmoor. If you can, stay in one of the rooms for the Moorland views - the views really are worth it! Its the perfect place...

A lovely place to stay, everyone was so friendly and helpful, especially to the dog, who was most appreciative. The food, with themed plates to match(!), was delicious. even the afternoon teas were excellent. I have never seen such a large toasted tea cake....... Thank you, all, for making our stay so enjoyable. Clare, Barrie and Rosie, the dog.

We chose this hotel for Christmas as it is not too far from our home, it is also a doggy hotel and as we have two dogs it wasn't a difficult choice. The hotel only has eight rooms in total so the Christmas was more like a family time, everyone, including the dogs were very friendly and got on well...

We were only here for an afternoon tea so cannot comment on the rooms, the hotel lounge and grounds however were beautiful. Dogs are welcome which I thought was lovely, although if you want to sit and enjoy an afternoon tea without any dogs in the room, then this isn't the place for you! The afternoon tea was delicious! I...

Q. Who let the dogs in? A. The Hotel owners! If you want to escape to the country, this is the place. In the heart of Dartmoor, Prince Hall is nestled in a scenic valley on the banks of the Dart. With walks in all directions there's plenty of opportunity to work up an appetite for the Hotel's excellent food....
