Visited this beautiful inn for a Sunday lunch in April 2015 with my partner. We had 2 roast beef with seasonal veg. The veg given to share was barely enough for one plate I asked could we have some more and the waitress quickly came with more. The food is of excellent standard no quarrels there! We enjoyed a great... More

After staying in a really expensive seaside hotel the previous night, it was a breath of fresh air to stay at the Bearslake !. Great service, great beer, and great food in the restaurant, quaint room and a good breakfast, all at very good value for money I will definitely stay again.

When we arrived we were met and checked in. Very friendly lady who provided us with a flask of fresh milk for the room, and took us out to our room. Fantastic room, absolutely massive. Comfy and clean. Amazing view up to Dartmoor. Nice bar area, real ales and the usual drinks available. Lovely pub garden with a small river.

We had a special memorable dinner in this pub restaurant in this special historic house. Their food was very delicious, all of us, my husband, my parents from Japan and I enjoyed them with very kind and friendly service. Thank you very much.

Six of us each had different items for lunch (potato and leek soup, ploughman's platter, burger, ham sandwich, salmon baguette) and all were excellent. The staff were attentive and provided extra bread, etc quickly. Ambiance provided by the merging of several old workers cottages into a building with a great thatched roof. Well worth a stop if you are on... More

Popped in on the way past for a quick lunch. Were seated immediately in the bar and ordered from the bar menu. Very attentive staff, quick service and possibly the nicest plugs and either of us has had for a long time.

This is an old inn, originally built in 1300's and added on to in 1600-1700's with a thatched roof. We had the Hayloft room which is nice size with sofa in front of TV looking out a Juliette balcony . The view was of fields with sheep. We enjoyed watching the lambs romp. There is a restaurant , pub. Breakfast... More

Amazing pub, amazing food, amazing location!!! Can't rate this place highly enough! Had the soup of the day and rump steak and Devon Blue Cheese sauce and no meal has tasted good enough since!! Lovely views from beautiful rear garden. Great service with a smile and great prices. For two people: both starters and mains with sides and drinks total... More

Bears Lake was highly recommended, however I was not satisfied with the service of a senior member of staff. With this, my burger which was ordered well done came out still raw in the middle. Considering I have had good reviews from people others I was not very happy with my experience

On a recent trip to Okehampton my girlfriend and I came across this beaut of a place. From the outside it is very pretty with an all thatched roof. After stopping off for a pint of proper Devon local cider we decided that we would book it for dinner later that evening. Not only was the food amazing it was... More
