Proper old fashioned feel with modern services. Good friendly staff. Top notch. Thatched charm with a fantastic restaurant, full of nooks and crannies to explore. Great beer and set in a perfect little corner of the moor. Hard to fault for us.

After an awful day we arrived at bearslake starving with a very ratty hungry child. The lady in the bar made us so welcome and the food was outstanding. If you do visit make sure you check out the beer garden with its little babbling brook and tremendous views!

I came here with colleagues for an evening meal. This thatched old pub has plenty of character and a traditional west country feel. The staff were friendly and professional. The menu was varied. I had an excellent main course and cheese board and we all enjoyed the food and service. I will certainly come back.

We went for a Sunday roast today and it was by far the best meal we've had in a long time. The turkey was moist and full of flavour, the bread sauce was the best we've ever had and the brownie was to die for! It was busy which was a good sign and the staff are very friendly and... More

Well. What can we say? This place was fantastic from arrival to departure. We stayed in the Hayloft suite with double doors opening out onto the moors. A perfect picture to take in whilst sat in the comfy leather sofa after a hard days expedition to the moors. We stayed for four nights and wished it could be for longer... More

We have eaten here a few times with our dog. You are welcomed in to the bar area and the friendly staff are extremely welcoming. An extensive, freshly cooked menu selection won't disappoint. Good ales on tap too! Full of old world charm and not to far off the beaten track, but enough to be a real 'country pub'. We... More

The Bearslake Inn in Lake (Lake and Sourton) was found on a recent trip whilst travelling back across Dartmoor to Tavistock. The bar is small but has an attached bar eating area and a larger restaurant. Our visit was to the restaurant and the meal was very nicely prepared and delivered. The service is excellent and the prices are reasonable... More

Born n bred in Devon, but currently living away we decided to come down for a short break and visit relatives over the weekend. Due to the short notice thing of it all our regular stopover over Buckfastleigh way was full so did a quick 'google' to find an alternative and the Bearslake came up with a vacancy, so grabbed... Wonderful place to stop with or without children. In fine weather there is the garden out the back and inside there is much to look at enjoy. Pub food is traditional sandwiches, 'ploughmans, and a quite wide ranging kids menu. Kids had a ball in the garden.

Basically the cream tea was so delicious it made me cry, warm fresh scones, wonderful. I don't think they sell many for some reason but it was sublime. Ok I have been looking for a replacement for the Barton in belstone, best cream tea in Devon... at last I have found it.
