Stopped here unplanned. Nice welcoming pub with quick and polite service. Food was perfectly fine and served quickly. Yes the pub is looking dated and tired with an old fashioned bar and restaurant but I suppose that adds to its charm. Prices were about what you would expect for a pub in Devon. Didn't stay, just ate here

Stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of this month and it was a pleasant experience. Very friendly staff, nice old bar with a log fire and great food, including a lovely breakfast. My room was a little dated, but I had a large, comfy bed and the room was clean. I will be stopping here again.

We stayed on the caravan site located behind the hotel as we normally do. We eat in the pub on a number of occasions and the food each time was excellent. This is an old fashioned country pub, if you are looking for a plastic imitation The Fox is not for you. If however you enjoy real ale, local sourced... More

We had a lovely stay here for a family occasion. The rooms were warm, clean and very comfortable. The food in the evening was excellent. Breakfast was delicious with unlimited juice , tea and coffee and Frank was a fantastic host. Looking forward to returning next time we're in the area.

Had a delightful weekend in a traditional English pub. The food and service were first class, with a very attentive staff. The room was good and comfortable and the 'family run' pub was well served. Recommend a visit to a very special part of the country

Stayed for one night in room 3. Everything was old fashioned and dated. The room had a musty smell to it, the en suite consisted of an old dusky pink plastic bath, hand basin and loo with worn carpet on the bathroom floor. The bed was a king size but the bed linen was dated and tatty. The furniture was... More

We stopped here for a few days in our motorhome and splashed out on a champagne breakfast and later for dinner to celebrate my birthday, It was excellent and already planning to celebrate there again in January 2016.

I stayed on a Friday as an overnight stop on my way to Cornwall at the campsite. Very friendly staff who made my son and myself very welcome from the start. Great local ale and excellent food. The food was hot tasty and well cooked and came in a reasonable time considering how busy they were. There is electric hook... More

Typical old English country pub with guest accommodation, warm and friendly greeting from staff and shown to room 1 which was a good size with lovely solid oak furniture, this room is a family room with a kingsize double and two bunk beds. The food here is good and the restaurant and bar are really old world charm. I'm reluctant... More

Great campsite behind the fox and hounds that we have been using for years. It is often very quiet, so we have a lot of space for our children to play. It is open all year also. It is the cheapest one we have stayed at, £10 a night for a caravan with hook up, for a family of 5!... More
