We visited in August for afternoon tea. The scones were cold, dense and stodgy. There was no choice of scone. The jam was of the industrial red variety -unable to tell what fruit was in it. The service was very slow even thought we were the only people Inside. It took ten minutes before anyone even appeared from the kitchen... More

We met with family and friends at Brimpts Farm Barn to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. Gabrielle was very welcoming and made arrangements with our daughter, paying attention to every detail. We stayed two nights in the cottage, being joined by our elder daughter and her family for the first night. Our younger daughter and her family camped in the... More

Saturday 27 February to Tuesday 1 March, my wife and I, plus boarder collie dog, stayed in a double room (Haytor) this used to be part of the old stable. The room had onsuite wc/shower (wet room), and was furnished with quality fittings and generally the standard of finish was good. This was part of a barn/stable convertion, with several... More

We were staying for a night and it was fantastic. A hot tub was waiting just round the corner from our room and I loved the fact they named the rooms after tors! We came for a family party so we were staying up late.

Booked Brimpts Barn for a whole week, 25 of us enjoyed a fantastic weekend of celebrations in the haybarn, and the following week it was our base from which we explored Dartmoor. Free wifi was really useful - TV reception is poor so we connected phones and laptops to the TV's to stream our favourite programmes. There is no phone... More

We stayed here for one night, camping in one if their fields. Now I'm not a camper at all but this was delightful. Silence, views of the hills, toilets and showers close by and the sheep running across the moors and tiny birds overhead catching insects as your entertainment. We arrived at 4pm after a long hime around the moors,... More

Had a cream tea here which for the £5 that they charge you really cannot fault. Two types of Jam, clotted cream, two scones which were very nice and Tea. Its located on a working farm and you can also book rides on the Clydesdale horses they have. The staff are friendly, its clean and they have outside seating

What a location , working farm in such a quiet location. We slept in one of the barns and never regretted not having phone signals, wifi orTV. Stats were out whilst we had fun in the hot tub. My daughter would have stayed in all night , lovely people, lovely breakfasts and nice pub down the road for dinner ,... More

We had mixed feelings after our visit as follows ... THE PLUS POINTS For 3 of us the bill was less than £15 (incl tip) Too much of everything for us to eat VERY thick clotted cream (SO thick that you can't easily separate it from the bowl:) Service was attentive Location was inside, what appeared to be, a VERY... If you want to walk out of your room into the beautiful Devon countryside this is the perfect spot. A short walk down to the River Dart or long walks up to the Tors, or into the forest, the choice is yours. All so accessible. Choose to self-cater or enjoy the very best of home cooking, again the choice is... More
