Myself and my Family stayed here for one night in July and words cannot describe how beautiful Gidleigh really is. The rooms are so unique and stunning, waking up in the morning to pure silence and the sound of the stream was beyond blissful. The staff were very helpful and friendly which made us feel very much at home. The... More

Just returned from a 2 night break with my wife at Gidleigh Park. We were there on a summer package - 2 nights including a 10-course tasting menu on one night, a cream tea and a lighter meal on the second night. The drive from Chagford to the hotel was slightly interesting on very narrow roads with cars coming in... More

Golden week end for Golden Wedding anniversary. Astonishing food on both nights with a "Glorious Twelfth" seven course meal including Grouse shot that morning in Yorkshire. Astonishing behaviour too from a 50 years married couple who ended up afterwards in a Jacuzzi on their private balcony. Children and grandchildren greatly embarrassed.

This is quite simply, one of the very best hotels we have stayed in. The hotel is Beautiful and luxurious with well trained staff giving high quality service. Set in rural Devon, this hotel is a wonderfully hidden gem. Its location and ethos ensure both privacy and tranquility. We were met on arrival by friendly and welcoming staff, who were... More

Blown away by the view of the hotel when eventually arriving, it's the classic country house. Entrance is at the side and a tad misleading, but once inside the welcoming interior staff appear almost from nowhere to escort you to your room. Great room, views out across the gardens and Dartmoor beyond. Huge walk in shower, bath big enough for... More

Stayed here as part of my 'big' birthday celebrations. Very peaceful place, lovely gardens with nice walks. Beautiful room with a nice balcony overlooking the river and gardens. Well worth the visit despite the cost

I am fascinated by the reviews here praising the food at Gidleigh Park as I think it has become a big mistake to dine there. I travel the world in luxury whilst living well at home and I don't recognise the dinner we endured at Gidleigh as being even slightly pleasant. Tasting menus of small complex dishes - what a... I went to Gidleigh Park hotel for 1 night. Stunning place in the middle of the park, beautiful room, garden, environment. The service was incredible from the moment we entered the property, we got immediately upgraded to a stunning room. Dinner has been a real experience. We chose the 7 courses menu. Incredible food and top quality. This place is... More

We had stayed some years ago at the Hotel and had good memories of our stay. We were in Devon and therefore called up last month to book a table for dinner. The first disappointment is that dinner started with a pretentious and not particularly friendly waiter telling us that we could not chose from a menu (which is available... More

We spent three days here, enjoying the Michelin 2-star cuisine and the beautiful Devon and Dartmoor countryside. The hotel water gardens lead to Dartmoor, the hotel provided a wonderful packed lunch and the day's hiking was brilliant. The new head chef, Michael Wignall, provided the most innovative and delicious ten and seven course tasting menus. The room was excellent and... More
