We had Gidleigh Park on our list of places to visit for a while. We visited last year and thought it was lovely but they were hosting a wedding and there were a couple of little areas of the service lacking in detail which we didn't expect. As soon as the management heard they invited us back so that they... More

Simply stunning food. 5-course tasting menu was excellent. Only reason it doesn't get 5star is due to slightly stuffy dining area. We ate in small room with 6 tables and average age of about 75. Perhaps lacking a little atmosphere, but then again the food is the main attraction.

We had looked forward to visiting Gidleigh Park for some time and we were not at all disappointed. The setting is wonderful, the hotel superb and the staff are excellent. Please follow the hotels instructions on how to find it, and ignore your GPS ! We were lucky enough to be updated to a Master Suite, comprising a large room... More

My Wife and I visited Gidleigh Park Hotel for the 7 course lunch for our 7th Anniversary!! Although we have been to many (in our opinion) fine restaurants over the last 9 years nothing was to prepare us for the lunch experience here. First class service and hosting from all of the staff. Incredible attention to detail when each course... More

Gidleigh Park is accessed through winding lanes surrounded by the rich woodland, moors and rocky streams of the Dartmoor National Park. As we arrived our bags were portered away and we were shown around the hotel by a knowledgeable and friendly girl who instantly made us feel...welcome. An aspect which never wavered throughout our stay. Our family suite - 'Haytor'... More

The Gidleigh Park is a beautiful place, even the long long drive to it is an absolute pleasure. It puts you in the right mood. The welcome was warm and reserved, we wanted to spend a bit of time in the drawing room before going to dinner and we enjoyed being in a beautiful cosy room with an amazing view:... More

After our lovely mid priced holiday in Scotland, we decided to have a blowout! Gidleigh Park was superb, the access was tricky but the hotel and grounds were lovely with the North Teign river running through the grounds. The room was beautiful, great view and well thought out, with L'Occitane products in the bathroom. Dinner was superb, we had a... More

I have wanted to stay at this hotel for sometime and was able to realise my dream this weekend. My husband booked us in for one night to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. The drive into the hotel could be a little challenging for some as the lanes that approach are very narrow and some backing up may be required.... More

It is difficult to know where to start with this hotel as it is simply brilliant! Perhaps finding it is the most awkward as it is located down a very long drive, but is well worth the perseverance as it is in a fantastic location. It's pricey, but worth the experience, from its location to service to food and the... More

Perfect if you are a 'teetotaller' because everything else about the hotel is perfect. However the prices in the wine list and the bar are beyond astronomic. This is shame because it diminishes the pleasure of a visit.
