A friendly, stylish eating house with food to die for. Try the scallops, followed by steak and ale pie. Plenty delicious puds too. All at reasonable prices. A lovely pub in a picturesque setting on the edge of Dartmoor.

After a fabulous day out at the river dart country park we were looking for an eatery before heading back to out holiday lodgings and happened upon this place. They were fully booked but found us a table in the entrance hall by the door which was kind. We were told there would be a long wait as they had... More

After a horrendous stay in Bridgwater, we pulled off the A38 and found this little gem. It's not a modern hotel but I like that personally as everywhere looks the same now! We didn't want to sit for breakfast and I asked if we could have 2 breakfast rolls, toast and take away tea. The lady was lovely and sorted... More

Stayed overnight, staff really friendly and helpful, but hotel very dated in need of a total overhaul. Restaurant for breakfast very dark hardly any natural light as lights on. Room was adequate for our needs. Code entry door system to get into main building as not a 24 hour hotel. Great if you are using it for a quick stop... More

Many thanks for taking the time to review your stay with us. The hotel is under constant refurbishment, with the restaurant being extended as we speak! - hence the fact that there were no windows and the notices everywhere apologising and thanking you for your patience. The restaurant and Haytor suite will then also be decorated. We are not a... More

Outdated hotel. A renovation of the hotel is needed. We had a small and very sober but clean room whit a little dated bathroom Simple English breakfast however a continental brakfast is not good possible For dinner we ordered a meal with chicken but thatwas a deluge of nasty thyme sauce. Friendly staff and good location with regard to Dartmoor

Stopped off on the way to Cornwall for one night and had fantastic service! Travelling with family who have a 7 month old child - table was reserved ready in the restaurant for us in the evening and cot was in the room ready. Carvery was gorgeous and even got given extra meat without extra charges. Worth every penny!

Was staying at a hotel nearby and looked up a place to go for carvery on a Sunday eve. This was just down the road and seemed popular as we drove past as the car park was full. It was quite busy when we arrived but the waitress sorted us a table and we only had to wait a few... More
