This is our 3rd visit , our first was way back in May 98 on our honeymoon and last May 19 for our 21st Anniversary. So because of Covid we needed a break. Everything about this little hotel is superb , we treated ourselves to a suite which was lovely and roomy with lovely outlook over the fields . The food is excellent so big compliments to the chef and staff . All the staff are very friendly , nothing too much trouble for them , making you feel comfortable. They’ve gone all out to help make you feel safe , during this time , you choose a time for your breakfast and dinner so you aren’t close to other guests. Wearing of face masks and plenty of hand sanitizer to use . We will be back I’m sure of that because it’s a little gem , so a big thank you to all of you at Northcote Manor 😊

Have just returned from a very relaxing break at the Northcote with our two adult daughters, taking advantage of the 3 nights for the price of 2 dinner, bed and breakfast deal. The quality of food and personal service at this small boutique hotel were beyond expectations with plenty of choice on the menu. The 6 course tasting menu is well worth the £15 supplement, perhaps paired with recommended wines, served to us by the charming and knowledgeable Mitchell who had previously worked for a well known winery in the Napa Valley. Good COVID arrangements and a lovely Spa which incorporates a large pool where numbers were restricted to 6 guests at a time in pre bookable slots. In our experience, this is one of the best hotels in the area and is therefore highly recommended.

This was our fourth visit but the first since the Covid restrictions were put in place. While it does feel strange having to wear a face mask in the hotel we felt very confident that all the regulations were in place and felt safe. It’s a lovely peaceful location and the food is excellent but what really makes this place is the staff. They seem to work together like a family and they make you feel very comfortable and welcome. This time we stayed for 3 nights so we were able to venture out a bit more . Croyde and Baggy point were well worth a visit but our favourite was Westward Ho! Beach and Hartland Point. We also appreciate staying in a hotel where we can bring our dog and he appreciated the treats!

As well as providing a sensible and well organised regime for handling the Chinese Plague, which was reassuring, the quality of staff was of a high order, from the manager to the newest teenage waiter (a remarkably well turned out lad). Three dinners from an eclectic menu were consistently enjoyable. The room - a sort of suite - had been cleared of unnecessary accoutrements for the duration of the plague and seemed, as a result, a bit on the austere side. However, the bed was large and comfortable. The setting of the hotel, a good half-mile from the nearest road provided a haven of peace. The views from the deck of the spa towards Exmoor were attractive. All in all, given the peculiar constraints around us, this was an excellent visit. We appreciated the efforts made by the staff to make things as ‘normal’ as possible.

Although we have stayed at Northcote Manor on numerous occasions, this was our first visit since the Coronavirus lockdown was eased. The food and service was as excellent as ever, but all in a very Covid Compliant manner.
