Linda and Joe had recently taken on this established luxury guest house and proved to be excellent and friendly hosts - nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay in Brixham. We booked the Junior Suite on the ground floor which meant we were unable to keep the windows open at night or if out for the day. The room was spotless, cosy and well decorated, and kitted out with everything we could possibly need, including a fridge, a fan, luxury toiletries, mobile docking station and very comfy double bed. Great selection on offer for breakfast (ordered the night before during Covid restrictions,, and table service only) , with large portions. One of our favourites was a summer fruits berry compote. The lovely garden is a bonus and a great place to relax, read a book, have a drink, soak up the sun, etc. We didn't use the hot tub but it did look very inviting. Location is perfect if travelling around by bus or car with guaranteed parking right outside and bus stops a few feet away. The 10-15 min walk into and back from the harbour did get a bit tedious after a few days but there are great places to eat in and around the harbour.

Dear David & Alison Thank you very much for your very positive review - we are pleased that you found the facilities at Brookside acceptable and sufficient to ensure a good stay. Next time you come, you really must enjoy the Hot Tub - as you say it is very inviting. Fortunately the number 12 bus runs right into Brixham, as well as all around the Torbay area, which is a great bonus if the walk back to the guest house seems a stretch too far after a good evening out. My daughter and I stayed for 2 nights. Our double room, number 2, was pristinely decorated and equiped. Fridge with fresh milk provided, good selection of tea, coffee and biscuits, hairdryer, tissues, portable illuminated mirror, 2 easy chairs and table and TV. The bed was extremely comfortable with 2 huge pillows each. The en-suite was fully stocked with large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, handsoap and lotion along with airfreshener and disinfectant and very plush towels. Bath / spa robes and slippers were also provided and we did take advantage of the hot tub situated in a delightful garden. Extremely luxurious. Richard was a very attentive host and breakfast certainly didn't disappoint. Again, a pristine dining room and great menu selection, deliciously cooked. Covid-19 precautions were evident from the front door and throughout and we felt extremely safe. Thank you Richard and Julie. We hope to come again.

Just returned from a wonderful weekend away at this fantastic B&B. Hosts Richard and Julie excel themselves to ensure their guests enjoy their stay in this spotlessly clean Guest House. In the bedroom there was a mini fridge with fresh milk and tea/coffee making facilities. Toiletries and hairdryer were also provided, including bathrobes/slippers.
We had a range of freshly ‘cooked to order’ breakfast items to select from which we thoroughly enjoyed each morning.
A big thank you to you both and we can’t wait to return.

This was our second visit to Brookside and it lived up to all our expectations. We visited during the covid pandemic but felt totally safe in the property. Richard and Julie had got everything well organised. Immediately inside the front door was an automatic anti bac gel dispenser and the property felt COVID safe. The breakfasts were exceptionally good and Richard was full of ideas of where we could go and how to get there. After we had left Richard and Julie found a piece of jigsaw we had left behind which they very kindly posted to us. We hope we will be able to make a return visit next year.

Brookside was a superb choice for our family. Linda & Joe could not have been more helpful & welcoming. The rooms were so comfortable & spotlessly clean with lovely cotton robes, toiletries & slippers
The breakfasts were delicious, plentiful & beautifully served with everything you could possibly want.
The hot tub was delightful & an added luxury to this already lovely property.
We enjoyed our stay immensely & could not have asked for more.

Me & my husband always stay at Brookside when we visit Brixham it's the best B&B we have stayed at. Richard & Julie are great hosts, nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts are lovely cooked to order, rooms very nice, clean & have fridges & lovely modern decor. Plenty of parking in front of B&B. Nice garden for guests to sit & relax. Overall a fabulous experience. Richard & Julie have gone to great lengths to ensure the health & safety of their guests during this very difficult time with Covid restrictions. Would definitely recommend to others, we will be back.

On our arrival at Brookside Guest House, we were given a warm and friendly welcome from it's owners, Linda and Joe. Over a refreshing cup of tea and a slice of delicious home made cake, they gave us all the information we needed for our stay at Brookside. Plenty of details about Brixham and the surrounding area: Restaurants, pubs, walks and places to visit.
We stayed in the junior suite on the ground floor. A well equiped room with an en-suite shower and a nice seating area. There was a fridge with fresh milk and bottled water and of course a supply of tea and coffee etc.
The breakfast choices are great and the quality of the food and presentation puts many hotels to shame.
Brookside has a garden and patio area which guests can use and there is even a hot tub (I believe this is the only guest house in Brixham with one!) and sauna. There are four parking spaces at the front of the property, one for each of the four guest rooms.
Brookside is ideally located, with an easy 20 minute walk down to Brixham harbour with many restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops.
Highly recommended, look forward to staying there again!

As regular visitors to Torbay we have stayed in a number of hotels, B&B’s and self contained accommodations over the years, but Brookside has ticked every box for us.
From the moment we arrived, Linda and Joe made us feel right at home - the tea and delicious home made lemon drizzle cake were very welcome after a lengthy drive from
Surrey.
We were thrilled to find a complimentarily bottle of Prosecco and chocolates to wish us a Happy Valentines awaiting in our Junior Suite which was wonderfully furnished and very comfortable.
The breakfast, what can l say…..this was outstanding. Such variety on the menu that we were able to sample the kippers, scrambled eggs and salmon and of course the full English over our four night stay. Beautifully presented and truly scrumptious!
We also took advantage of the hot tub which was hot and soothing after a long day of walking.
Nothing was too much trouble for Linda and Joe, they were friendly and dedicated hosts.
I can truly say that this little gem will be our go to place now when we return to the area again.

Our 4th visit 3 years on & still excellent
We arrived at the Brookside guest house and was warmly greeted by Linda & Joe , friendly nice people. We were offered a drink & a lovely slice of cake
Everything was explained to us about the hotel & the surrounding areas of things to do & places to go also places to eat.
The room was great & spotless,we had Everything we needed & more for our stay water & milk teabags coffee sugar etc are supplied also a fan was supplied as we had unusually hot weather.The bed & pillows are extremely comfortable slept like a log .The covid measures were still in place at the time of our visit for ours & their safety plus the other guests.A wide variety of breakfasts are available all cooked very well,I tried as many as I could in our 4 day stay so never had chance to try them all but will do on our next visit plus the freshly
home made smooties were a great added bonus .
The hot tub was fantastic and reasonably priced (prosecco) supplied nice touch
