My partner and I were so looking forward to staying here for two nights but after a few hours here regretted it. Were shown to a room in a lovely cottage and knew we would hvee a separate bathroom but weren't not expected to have to walk across an open corridor in front of the main entrance glass pained door... Well, it seems the reviewer was honoured with a passing visit from the spirit of Elizabeth Carew, one of the resident ghosts. Who else, I wonder, would have shut a guests' window from the outside in the middle of night?! Our staff are normally very good about servicing rooms, but perhaps, as the room in question is very rarely used... More

Whilst this is a nice, quiet location, it would benefit from a bar and restaurant. The facilities they have are only open when they host a wedding. It is necessary to go into the nearby village to eat and drink. The place has an intersting hidtory though and what remains of the castle is worth seeing on the tour, free... More

Beautiful surroundings. Amazing staff. Richard is just brilliant. He made us laugh so much. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are nice. There are a couple of nice restaurants/bars and gift shop nearby.

Stayed for 2 nights, very comfortable bed, lovely rooms in thatched cottages around the courtyard. included a tour of the castle, very interesting and informative. Breakfast good, lovely selection of berries, only criticism would be while communal breakfast tables great for wedding parties, think most B+B guests would prefer individual tables.A very relaxing break, will definitely return.

This is a lovely old castle with lots of history. The guides who took us around were very informative and made it a lovely experience, the journey there was very pleasant along the Exe Valley. The grounds were lovely and as they hold wedding there the settings for that would be spectacular. A worth while visit.

We spent 5 days and 4 nights at Bickleigh Castle, surrounding the wedding of my niece. This time was the highlight of our 2 weeks in England. The castle is medieval, but the rooms (and bathrooms) are quite modern and comfortable. The owners and staff are warm, friendly, helpful and efficient, and went out of their way to insure that... Lovely 2-night stay earlier this month at Bickleigh Castle. We were a family of 4 people (2 adults and 2 children) and took 2 rooms. Although there were no connecting rooms, the management gave us 2 rooms in one of the cottages with our own private landing. The rooms were very cozy and the beds comfortable. The breakfasts were also... More
