We have been coming to Guernsey for decades and have stayed at several different places on the Island (mainly hotels). This self catering apartment (we stayed in L'Eree) has topped the lot! The host, Jonathan, was professional, friendly and knowledgable. You can see how passionate he is about his business by the attention-to-detail in the apartments and the quality of the fittings and fixtures. A nice touch was the fresh flowers and welcome pack (especially the Guernsey butter - although not so good on our waistlines). With lovely tranquil walks right on the doorstep, amenities close by and stunning wildlife this place really allowed us to wind down from our busy lives. We enjoyed breakfast a few times at the Guernsey Pearl Cafe (which you can walk to in around 20 minutes), a fantastic evening meal at Taste of India at L'eree and a superb crab salad at The Beach Cafe at Fermain Bay (with a stunning cliff walk afterwards back to our hire car in St Peter Port). We did lots of walking on the Ruettes Tranquilles (quiet lanes) as well as the plentiful cliff walks, beaches and The Millennium Walk around St Saviour's Reservoir. And don't forget the wonderful Golden Guernsey goats close by! If you are looking for somewhere beautiful to recharge with immaculate presentation inside and out plus views & wildlife galore then the Granary Apartments are definitely for you. We did not want to leave and will certainly be coming back next year - our new "go to" sanctuary on our favourite island.…
The Perelle apartment was perfect for us . Two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Parking. Shower and bath. Comfortable and well equipped. Everything we could ask for and more for self catering. Immaculately clean (we have extremely high standards). Well serviced. Jonathan provided for everything we needed. Marvellous outdoor areas with views and really part of nature. We absolutely loved every minute of our stay and we are so glad we were able to be here at The Granary.
I stayed in the Granary apartments while isolating and then for some company training with a colleague. I honestly couldn't fault my stay! Both apartments we stayed in were nice and comfortable with all the creature comforts and some great extras like the Nespresso coffee machines! Jonathan went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and having a pleasurable stay. The location was idyllic, peaceful and within walking distance of a bus stop that has services into St Peter Port and to L'Eree. In conclusion I would recommend the Granary to anyone visiting Guernsey!
We've been coming to Guernsey for years and in that time have stayed with friends, BnB's, Hotels and self catering apartments. The Granary Apartments are by far our best discovery to date. Clean, modern and the most beautiful calm and peaceful surroundings. 'The Top of the World' picnic bench really is the icing to it's 'other worldly feel' and it's so easy to relax and feel at home. Jonathan has done a superb job at getting the little things right and these individual touches make it feel like a home from home - complete with chickens!
This was our second visit to this lovely apartment in an idyllic setting - very comfortable, well appointed and super clean, beautiful grounds, and situated in a peaceful and pretty area. We stayed in Portelet apartment. Our favourite thing was to walk up the steps behind the apartment every evening to ‘the top of the world’ with our chilled bottle of wine where we could sit on a bench in a meadow surrounded by wild flowers and loads of butterflies looking out to Lihou Island and the west coast and enjoying fabulous views and sunsets. Jonathan, the owner, was extremely helpful and friendly. Bird song was all around - altogether a really lovely experience.
Just spent a week in the L'Eree apartment and was very pleasantly surprised on lots of counts; the photos definitely under-sell the size and amenities of the place; great Nespresso coffee machine; lovely TV with access to internet channels (Netflix!); spacious bathroom with heated towel rail; starter groceries; fresh flowers; incredibly well equipped kitchen etc etc. The location is a complete winner in one of the most beautiful and tranquil parts of the island and the grounds very beautiful too. Highly recommend and I completely understand why the residents in the neighbouring apartment were there for the 5th year running! I'll be back before you know it Jonathan!
The Granary is a comfortable, well-equipped home from home. Everything you need is provided and the standard is high. Despite mixed weather we had an interesting holiday with plenty to see and do. Driving some of the narrow lanes is not easy but the bus service is excellent and very good value. The apartment is in a good position to explore a wide area and there are some lovely walks. Jonathan is a welcoming host. My favourite day was spent wandering round the open gardens. It was a special treat to visit so many private gardens and such a variety of styles and plants. I am so glad our visit was during this open weekend.
The Granary apartments are in a quiet valley with some amazing scenery nearby. We didn't hire a car, opting to walk and use public transport. The island is well serviced by buses, with each trip costing £1/person. After a full day of walking, it was great to return to a comfortable, well-equipped apartment. The host was friendly, welcoming and on hand to answer any questions (if needed). The location, the apartment, the host and the island made for an enjoyable holiday. I would definitely recommend!
The Granary gave us a wonderful week in in southwest Guernsey , despite some inclement weather we had a great time and enjoyed our day inside the beautiful apartment which is so very comfortable and warm. We had some fantastic walks around the area, it's only a pretty 10 min walk to the coast , or 20 mins up to the village which has an excellent shop and post office and is served by an good bus service which runs to time and only costs £1 per trip. The proprietor is friendly and helpful , this ancient building , so attractively converted is set in a deep lush valley and we looked out over the Mill, wheel still turning , where ducks played on the lawn.
The Granary is situated in a quiet secluded valley in the south west corner of Guernsey. Originally a large old barn, it has been converted to a high standard. There is a lovely warm welcome on a notice board as you approach the property for the first time. Everything about it looks right and well cared for. My wife and I stayed in the Perelle apartment, which was excellent, but the other two look equally as nice. Perelle was tastefully furnished with everything in that you might need. It was a real bonus to have a washer/dryer as well as a normal sized fridge, freezer and dishwasher. There was ample cutlery, crockery and pans. The apartment was immaculately clean and a credit to Lisa the housekeeper. Jonathan, the owner, is a delightful person and is clearly keen to ensure that high standards are maintained at all times. The property has extensive grounds, ranging from a small sitting area outside each apartment; a sheltered sun terrace above this, and for those who don't mind a short climb, there is the "Top of the World" with superb views of the west coast and the island of Lihou. There are more expansive views yet further up in three fields, which are managed with conservation in mind. It is all so quiet and peaceful! In the lower part of the grounds there is a summer house overlooking a small reservoir and a ten minute walk beyond this takes you to the nearest beach. Just up the road from the Granary is the Silbe Nature Reserve for those interested in birdwatching. The many varied attractions of Guernsey are all within easy reach. There is no doubt that we will return to the Granary. We have no hesitation in recommending it to others.…
