They have a good, imaginative menu, with freshly harvested fish, meat and veg such as salads. My friend chose sea bass which wasn't huge, as is usual with this fish, and I had a fab prawn and crayfish tail salad. Enjoyed a very pleasant experience sitting outside in hot sunshine with good service. I can't wait to go there again.

Staff were at hand ready to help with luggage even before we got out of the car on arrival. Very friendly feel and very welcoming. That got us off to a great start. The hotel is magnificent with further improvements to the outside terraced area and valley garden since our last visit. Part way down the Fermain valley towards the... More

Rooms very good, food excellent, restaurant service totally abismal considering what you pay for the hotel. Better service in a restaurant adjoining a Premier Inn. With the restaurant half full they sat us next to a group of 8 men who had been drinking for a considerable time, they were not out of order just extremely loud so we could... More

Hi John, First we are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us at the Fermain Valley Hotel. I am bitterly disappointed to hear that we were disappointed with the service in the Ocean restaurant as although we can not control our guests, our service is should be second to none and well within our control. Let me reassure... More

What the hotel website does not make clear is that the 'separate building' - the Venue, turns into a party disco at weekends and that you have little chance of sleep till midnight. So much for a relaxing holiday. I will return home more stressed and tired than when I arrived. I called reception earlier who informed me the music... More

This is a difficult hotel to rate in terms of hotel facilities vs room/bathroom facilities. I paid for a platinum room (number 28) and generally, I don't mind what I pay, provided I feel that I have got what I paid for and that I feel I have had value for money. In this case I don't feel I have.... More

My wife and I stayed on on a cycling holiday of the island. Very good room, staff extremely helpful. The only downside was the food. As vegetarians, the choice would have been reasonable if both restaurants had been open, but only the stakhouse restaurant was open on the Sunday night in July when we arrived and the choice was very... First impressions were very favourable but unfortunately slipped towards a downward spiral. We had an annex room, which for elderly people may prove to be a struggle. As our porter was just about to go off shift he walked us up the hill to show us to our room leaving my husband and I to drag our luggage behind him!... More

This is a great looking hotel and the views from the bars on the terrace are surreal and stunning. We ate in both restaurants and the quality of food was superb as were breakfasts although the choice was a bit limited. That said, making me porridge was not a problem for them. Sunday was a bit of a disappointment as... More

Love the changes they've made to Ocean & the terrace. So much more relaxed seating ~ makes you spend much more time enjoying the area. Wish the doors totally open to the pool & clear when the outdoor BBQ on. Menu overpriced for the island but for the location , setting & new seating worth coming for a glass of... More
