We spent the afternoon lounging on comfortable beds by the quiet pool with drinks and a sun umbrella.
Dinner (£32 credit each) was excellent and service very good. Cooked breakfast was good with a better than average choice of fruits, pastries etc.
Our deal was £130 for our superior room which was extremely reasonable considering we had £64 credit for dinner which easily covered our 3 course meal. Our drinks bill however was rather large - our fault not the hotel's!!
We look forward to returning for a Tennerfest staycation.
After a comfortable and restful night’s sleep the breakfast I had was one of my favourites, poached smoked haddock with poached eggs which was wonderful and set me up for the rest of the day!
A most enjoyable stay and we feel determined to make a return visit soon!

There are tea making facilities in the room, well stocked with complimentary biscuits, individual flavoured teas (also standard breakfast type), coffee - regular and decaffeinated. Bottled water is also provided.
This year more outdoor seating areas had been added in shade or sun which was great as the gardens are lovely to sit in, read a book, have a drink and just relax or catch up with friends.
The food is lovely and the steaks are amazing. (I'm very fussy!!)
Sunday lunches are incredible with melt in the mouth meats including turkey, umpteen choices of vegetables, Yorkshire puddings, with numerous sauces. You will just wish you had a bigger plate!!
All the staff (as always) are extremely friendly, very hard working and go the extra mile to help if required.
Having stayed at Le Friquet for many years we can honestly say each year it gets more relaxing.
Thanks to everyone.
Our late booking due to the untimely cancellation of our Sicilian holiday meant being allocated a room on the top floor, which was a problem for my wife struggling with a serious knee injury. However, after three days, we were kindly allocated a ground floor room.
Friendly and well-schooled in the art of hospitality, the helpful and attentive staff were happy to tend to our every need both inside and on the patio surrounded by almost Tropical gardens with a lawn fit for Croquet. A clean swimming pool was a bonus.
The quality of food was exceptional, with fresh and imaginative Seafood dishes complimenting other fare and fit for every palate.
We would return.
We were given a warm welcome by Melissa who was on Reception when we arrived and told us our room was ready and gave us the key. Our room overlooked the garden and was very quiet. We had dinner in the hotel on the first evening which was delicious and did not disappoint in any way, albeit a little expensive as the chips and vegetables came as extras with the fish costing £3.50 a portion. The breakfasts were exceptionally good with everything from a glass of fruit juice, a generous buffet selection and a cooked breakfast with lots of choice ranging from a Full English, Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Egg, Poached Haddock plus other choices. The food was well cooked, hot and nicely presented.
There is a beautiful well kept garden at the hotel with chairs to sit out on in warm weather. We found all the staff to be very friendly, professional and helpful.
We didn’t hire a car but purchased a Puffin Pass from the Tourist Information desk on arrival at Guernsey Airport for use on the local buses which worked out at 75p a journey. We found the bus services to be very good, albeit a few unfortunate cancellations due to staff absences with Covid. We managed to see a large part of the island during our short break and the buses stopped nearby. We hope to return again one day.
The staff are so helpful, nothing is too much trouble and apart from the fiasco at the airport on the way back (everything out of my hand luggage to be needlessly examined) it was a perfect stay
the staff arrange car hire and anything else you wish
If anything is certain its this. Guernsey has alot more going on than first impressions would allow.
The best way to describe this experience is one of overwhelming fun. Everything that you think you are going to expect when going to a hotel is usually one of uncertainty. However on this occasion there is no need to worry. When you come here you are greeted by some truly lovely members of staff. During on our arrival Melissa who is one of the hotel reception staff welcomed us in with a warm smile and one of overwhelming kindness as she sorted out an issue with one of our rooms. She was extremely understanding and made it clear to us that she wanted us to feel welcome and enjoy our stay.
Alongside the reception staff are the outstanding house team who made our room so neat and tidy. Everything was so easy to access. The beds were unbelievably comfortable and honestly the best week's sleep I've had for a long time in an accommodation. They also leave lovely complimentary small shower gel, shampoo and body wash bottles to accompany the shower which was so good and very easy to use. It was a really lovely surprise to always be woken up to a warm shower that's hot on demand.
The kitchen, restaurant and bar staff need also mentioning. The food that they brought to myself and my friend was extremely well presented, it was cooked beautifully, no faults at all. The staff who are a mixture of everyone from Asian, Europe and across the world are very friendly, they are very welcoming when you are taken to your tables. They always put a smile on your face when you are ordering especially Rav who was so efficient yet laid back u. It really was such a lovely surprise when we were presented with the food that had been made for us. The breakfasts were extremely varied, lots of lovely sides which is worth the price when added onto your booking. It is cooked or continental and you can choose at will.
The overall summary I can give is that this hotel brought warmth, exceptional customer service. They delivered food which was a hit and given rooms which were beautifully equipped - kettle, mugs, television, easy to use electric operated fan and plenty of places to store your personal belongings. Maybe there could be a few more plugs in the rooms but honestly that's literally the only criticism that I could give.
Plus the plugs are UK. Not European. ❤️🇬🇬
Le Friquet Hotel delivers overwhelming comfort and it was a pleasure to stay in such a place.
Staff answered all queries via email and telephone promptly and were informative during our stay.
Didn’t use outside pool but it looked well maintained with guests having access to towels which could be put in a bag in reception for washing after use.
First floor room was spacious with what looked to be a recently renovated bathroom. King size Bed and pillows all very comfy. Some noise as restaurant guests exited the premises around 10.30pm but nothing else to disturb sleep. Housekeeping staff were friendly, efficient and non intrusive.
Lobster & Grill restaurant excellent. All staff attentive and welcoming with a wide menu range of fish available as well as meat and vegetarian dishes. Seafood platter was a real treat with lobster & crab. Great range of breakfast items available every morning from cereals, pastries and fresh fruit to a hot buffet including delicious scrambled eggs which are always difficult to achieve in a buffet setting.
This is a hotel with a great team of staff in all areas that I would look forward to returning to.
"The road that serves the hotel is quite busy with traffic, and there are few pavements, so you have to stay alert. Get a bus timetable!"Read full review
