Situated within easy driving reach of St Helier , the Talana hotel is everything you would expect of a hotel in this price range. We were greeted at reception by Dee, who seemed to do everything from book customers in to serving your breakfast! Breakfast was excellent, full English, with eggs of your choice. The bedroom was adequate, clean with ensuite facilities. The shower was a bit weak but again, adequate. There isn't a lift in the hotel but Dee Offered to get our bags brought up if we needed assistance

We requested a quiet room, which we had. Rooms at the back are recommended if you want quiet. Also to the rear is the pool. A couple of rooms on the ground floor have patio doors opening out onto the patio pool area. There are several rooms on the ground floor, bar, pool room, TV room, lounge and restaurant. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean throughout. Rooms are well furnished, a little dated but clean and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, always willing to go the extra mile. Excellent choice of cooked breakfast and cerials ,natural yogurt as well as milk could improve the selection. It's about a 15min walk to harbour. But No2 bus runs past hotel. The bus service around the island is very good and cheap.

This is an exceptional hotel for the price. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, the bedrooms are warm and comfortable, the staff are so welcoming and the wonderful choice for breakfast sets you up for the day.The pool area at the back of the hotel is a quiet place to enjoy a book( there are numerous in the hotel) or drink. We definitely will return.

On arrival, we were greeted by a very nice lady (dark hair, glasses). There is no lift, so we had to haul our cases up a few flights of stairs. The place is spotlessly clean but very dated. The bathroom was large, the water always nice and hot, and there was plenty of drawer and wardrobe space in our room. The bed was very firm (something that took a couple of nights to get used to), but the room we had looked out onto the back of the property, which is next to fields. The bar area - wood panelling gives this room a rather dreary, old-fashioned look. The rest of the place was alright, although very quiet - could do with some music/Bingo or something. The food - the bar snacks were fine, and the breakfast was adequate. No fresh fruit or yoghurts, and the cooked stuff was all fried - the eggs were on a plate which was swimming with oil! No other option of eggs - until the last day, when I overheard the owner offering boiled, scrambled or poached, to another guest (we'd never been offered anything other than what was there. Sausages were very basic, budget ones. The bacon was good, though. It's about 2 miles to St Helier, which took us approximately 25 minutes to walk (the buses aren't very frequent at night/on Sundays. We didn't use the pool, but it isn't big enough to have much of a swim in. Nice enough to sit out there, though.

My wife booked this hotel with booking.com. Her sister was there the week before us and spoke highly of the accommodation. We wholeheartedly agree. After a 7 hour delay at our departure airport, we arrived, very tired and were greeted by a friendly member of staff, to whom I'd spoken earlier regarding our delay. She showed us to our room which had a lovely view and a very large comfortable bed. Breakfast the next morning had everything required. Cereal and fruit (porridge if requested), eggs (various ways),bacon, sausage etc. There is a nice relaxing area at the rear of the hotel with a swimming pool (bit early in the season for a dip)! All in all a very nice hotel at a reasonable price. Wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend to friends. Thanks to Dee,James,Nelia,Fatima and everybody else.
