The perfect place to stay in a beautiful part of Jersey
I stayed in the hotel with a mixed generation family group and we all loved it. We had a wonderful welcome and superb service from the staff all through our stay. The location of the hotel overlooking Gorey harbour is stunning, the rooms are extremely comfortable and the one evening meal we had in the restaurant was superb. We were beautifully looked after all through our stay, and we loved the little touches like fresh milk provided for the bedrooms, and beach towels in a basket in the foyer whenever one went for a swim. I would have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending this hotel.

    Excellent hotel
Everywhere we went nearby when we said where we were staying replied "oh, they've had that all done up you know". It was worth it. We just spent a week at The Moorings and could not have picked a better place. We were lucky enough to get one of the rooms overlooking the harbour and as were were there during the heatwave, it was lovely to leave the windows open and see the bay. The bathroom was a very good size and absolutely spotless, with a huge bath and over-bath shower. We ate both in the cafe and the restaurant, and both were excellent, although as a vegetarian I found the options a little limited. Then again that's to be expected on an island that specialises in seafood. The room was spotless, the staff were incredibly efficient and also very friendly. A great bonus is that they have a supply of beach towels by the front door - if you're going for a swim, pick one up and then leave it in you room next morning when it will be magically wafted away. The only caveat I would have is don't choose Room 5 unless you have strong thumbs - the button to flush the loo is really stiff!

Hidden gem in the East of Jersey
Treated my husband to a local staycation for his birthday at The Moorings for 2 nights. We were so impressed by the whole experience from start to finish! The Moorings is a lovely boutique hotel, run by a wonderful team who made us feel right at home. It's recent renovation has been done to a very high standard with homely touches. The 2 night stay was excellent value for money but still felt luxurious and special. We had breakfast included in our package which was delicious, would highly recommend the Scandi Platter! The location is just down from Gorey Castle overlooking the harbour with fabulous views. This is a true hidden gem in Jersey, we will definitely be returning ASAP.

We stayed for four nights and could happily have stayed more.. First time in Jersey, and The Moorings Hotel - a stunning location - was a perfect base for us. After a huge breakfast, we explored the island for most of the day and then back to the hotel, which was busy with lots of people enjoying the sunshine on the terrace, and in the bar and restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble, food was excellent, front of house/ bar staff were lovely and house-keeping did a great job. I really can't recommend it enough!

What a lovely place! Beautifully renovated historic hotel with intentional extras in the rooms. The patio restaurant overlooks the sea and the food was delicious. The back of the hotel looks up to the castle - a truly iconic view. We swam in the sea and had a wonderful time here. Highly recommended. Iselin the owner was responsive and engaged and never hesitated to offer suggestions.

Our stay at the Moorings hotel was very enjoyable. Situated on a lovely part of the Island overlooking the harbour. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and the food was delicious which we dined mainly on the terrace. What more could you ask. I would love to make a return journey to Jersey.

First visit to Jersey. Hopefully can return and will definitely stay again at The Moorings and have already recommended to my friends. The Moorings is a relaxing place to stay, is spotlessly clean and from owners down all the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I ate on the terrace each of the 3 nights of my stay and enjoyed very much.

I had an early flight to Jersey so arrived at the hotel by 10:30 hoping to simply drop off my luggage at reception to my surprise and delight Iselin had my room ready having spotted my ETA so the break got off to a cracking start. A delightful hotel in a splendidly picturesque location. The staff, without exception, are very friendly and helpful, anticipating needs (an email before I arrived gave me instructions on how to get to the hotel, bus routes, links to taxi firms etc), and always smiling. Rooms are comfortable, restauarant and bar very pleasant indeed. The terrace is a go to location and always busy even for breakfast so (try to) reserve a table. A really pleasant experience. Unreservedly recommended. I shall certainly go again.

We arrived for an evening visit to Gorey. The gentleman who greeted us , let us book a table, explaining how popular outside seating was. Even so we were seated outside and enjoyed a delightful meal. Everyone was funny but polite. Nothing was too much trouble.

Matthew and Iselin run a truly idilic hotel in the beautiful place of Gorey Jersey. The hotel is clean with lovely rooms, all very well set up and clean. I highly recommend the ones with a sea view. Matthew and Iselin are warm and friendly and very welcoming as are the rest of the staff who work there. My friends and I have had a fabulous time here and would definitely come again

An amazing hotel - not just because of the superb location but also because of the care and attention all the staff give. So much thought has gone into making this a relaxed but super comfortable hotel. We stayed for nearly a week and loved every minute. And the food is fantastic. …….
