Come to Jersey - it’s beautiful... Choose a different hotel! Whoever reviewed this hotel and gave it an excellent rating has, sadly, little experience of good holiday accommodation! The staff are poorly trained in customer care and need, basically, to learn that manners and courtesy towards the public are essential in the service industry! The room had a superb view with a huge clean and comfortable bed however, the pillows were atrocious - Flat, hard and uncomfortable! Breakfast was adequate - choice of cereal, fruit, juices and yogurt then cooked food is ordered. There is a four course evening menu set each evening (we didn’t have this so can’t comment!) The thing which we found most “unusual” was the surprise on the barman’s face when we asked for the cocktail menu... in “The Cocktail Bar” - no cocktails available! “We don’t serve them as we have no cocktail glasses!” My question was why on earth would you call it a cocktail bar?? Perhaps when looking round the “lounge” the average age of the guests would explain why there was a limited choice on the “bar” menu. The restaurants in other places we visited on our 3 day break were generally superb (staff friendly and very courteous) and the bus service was one of the best and cheapest we’ve ever encountered!

Returned home yesterday from what I can only describe as a brilliant stay at The Ambassadeur Hotel. Room was beautiful and very clean. We stayed in a front room with stunning sea view. Staff very polite, friendly and helpful. Breakfast great and plenty of it. Evening meal 4 courses all enjoyable, good range of choice and good quality. I would not hesitate in recommending The Ambassadeur.

We booked through booking.com and the hotel were quick to reply to my messages except when I queried the price they have still not replied to that email ! We stayed in a sea view room which was stunning !! The room is clean and well looked after. The hotel is on a main bus route and the buses are regular. Breakfast is good and freshly cooked. Don’t expect to sit by the window as these tables are reserved for people with disability’s so they are easy to get to !! But there are tables much much closer for them to access so not sure how this is fair ? When I challenged the manger he had no justified response ! The hotel is good value for money but the seating at breakfast is crap and not fair ! Three nights and not one could we have a sea view at breakfast. The bar staff in the evening speak polish between themselves while serving you which I find rude ! I would come back but I would also look around for something more central to the island.

We were at Hotel Ambassadeur Jersey on Friday 24th May. Four people dined for £17 each for a 4 course meal. It was spectacular value for money on delicious food. I had seafood quiche, cream of carrot soup, fresh haddock and Charlotte russe with coffee to finish. The dining room was light and airy as the bifolding doors at the front were open. Thank you for a great meal and good service

There's nothing not to like. We upgraded to a sea view and loved it. (Full marks to the girl on reception here.) Room was large, comfortable, south facing - it does get warm, but there was a blind - and helped make our stay. Hotel is clean, well organised and the breakfast was good. Car parking was plentiful and all communal areas very pleasant. It's about 25 minutes walk into St Heller, which we did 3 nights out of 4, but a full evening menu is available. Definitely one to consider.
