We have just had a week here - this was our first stay at this hotel but not our first time on Jersey. St Brelades is our new favourite place on the island and the hotel provided us with the perfect base. Staff great. Food superb. Other restaurants and shops close by. Great beach access although bit of a workout going back up to the hotel but easily manageable . Most beautiful beach with kayaking and paddle boarding hire or just a swim. Bus stop right outside hotel . Taxi from/ to airport £10 approx. Rooms very spacious and comfortable

This is a very difficult review to give if im honest! So lets start with the fact i usually go abroad for my Summer holidays but with Covid decided on a more local experience! Firstly the flight was good and this hotel is only 15mins away from the airport. So the hotel....OK its a dry hotel....its a Christian hotel. So....first port of call was to get some wine and cider from a shop! I managed to do this ok. The hotel will allow you to bring alcohol in, and they are happy to chill it and serve it to you. In a way it works out a lot cheaper, but the hotel has not got a alcohol bar license! Its OK...you cope! The religion thing is fine....its an optional choice and some people like it and it presents no problems at all!! The hotel food i thought was rather outstanding and way above average. I thought the staff were superb and very friendly and they like to get to know you which was nice. The outlay of the hotel was a bit of a rat run but you soon get used to it after a day or so. I thought the hotel was spotless and kept clean to a very high standard and of course there was plenty of Covid precautions to be taken into consideration. Our room was nice with a superb view although i simply couldnt get comfy in the bed! No idea why but just couldnt. The room tho was decent and with a balcony. So really i couldnt fault the hotel at all. However we did have a few issues.....not the hotels fault but we found the trek down to the beach a little too much and with my wife having COPD getting down was fine however getting back up was very difficult. So in general, we had a nice time here but wouldnt come back due to the difficult location of getting out and about. If you are able bodied fit and well id recommend this hotel all day long. But for us we like to be right on the beach with very little walking involved! So thankyou for our weeks holiday and thankyou for looking after us and being so friendly. We had a very relaxing week and enjoyed meeting you all and other holidaymakers.

One, location. The manager claims the hotel has the best view on the island. Well I’ve driven around Jersey’s coastline a la Jim Bergerac, checking it out, and I find it hard to challenge the assertion. St Brelades Bay itself is, IMHO, the prettiest bay on Jersey, a perfect sweep of golden sand, with just the right mix of restaurants and unspoilt beauty. It has excellent walking on both sides (the parish church and fisherman’s chapel on one side and walks around the headland to the next bay on the other). The hotel sits in a slightly elevated position on the eastern end of the bay and the views are superb in any weather. Two, the hotel. Parking is available on site although I know many choose to use the regular bus services that criss-cross this small island. Rooms were clean and of good size – we went for a superior sea-view room which I think is probably the sweet spot. As I understand it this gives you a slightly higher elevation in the hotel (we were on the first floor) and of course a view right across the bay. The room also has a small balcony with a table and two chairs to sit on. TV is provided with the usual array of Freeview channels and the bathroom had a good-sized shower. Coffee making facilities are available in your room. The hotel itself has a very large outdoor terrace enjoying those fabulous views as well as several inside lounges. There is a small coffee shop inside and the ability to buy snacks and soft drinks on an ‘honesty’ basis. Bit like the old style mini-bars. There’s even a grand piano but sadly, covid restrictions meant I couldn’t have a go 😉 Three, service. This is something this hotel works hard at, it’s clear. Others have commented on a slightly more familial feel to the place – the manager is always highly visible and clearly cares what people think. Some other reviewers construe this in error as ‘controlling’, or reference the establishments past as a Christian holiday centre as if this is some kind of negative. The truth is much more prosaic and in the greatest traditions of Christian hospitality, this hotel tries to offer the best possible experience to all faiths or none. You are not at risk of a Damascus experience if that worries you! My wife and I ARE practicing Christians but we didn’t know about the hotel’s past when we booked anyway – suffice to say that nothing is too much trouble. On arrival, we were escorted across the hotel to our rooms – there’s not many hotels will do that these days, least of all one categorised as 3 star. Further, it’s clear from the history of reviews that the management genuinely take on board feedback given, and I can see changes in the hotel that have clearly been worked through over the past 2 years. We were asked for written feedback DURING our stay twice, so they do not fear the voice of the customer. Four, food. The hotel offers a fixed menu for the evening meal (at a fixed price) with a choice of 2-3 options over 3 courses. It’s good value for money, honest grub – fish and chips, curries, steak, gammon, soups, prawn, salmon all made an appearance while we were there. There appears to be a veggie option each night too. Dinner is served on the nose of 6.30pm which again was not an issue for us, but others have commented on this being early. However, the mix of people we saw at the hotel in our stay varied from young families with kids, through to couples of various ages, and those enjoying their autumn years. None of them struck me as being the eat at 9pm types and you are not obliged to eat in anyway. The hotel has no bar (again a plus for us) but helpfully you can bring your own wine, corkage free, which they serve at table for you. They’ll even chill it so an incredibly economical way to enjoy a tipple with your meal. In the morning, the stand-out was breakfast, a continental buffet with a cooked option. I don’t know where they source their sausages, but they were some of the best I’ve ever had in a hotel, anywhere at any price. Five, value for money. This is a 3 star hotel, with 4 star attention to detail, 5 star service and 10 star views. They have judged this perfectly, pitching an offer that is short on excess but does the important things right. We heartily recommend the Biarritz Hotel when you’re next in Jersey as we fully intend to return next year with others in tow – a bientot and thank you!

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at the Biarritz. The hotel is modern and clean and very relaxing . The staff do everything they can to make you feel welcome and at home, nothing is too much trouble . Our room was large and had a balcony with one of the best views we’ve ever had . Breakfast was well cooked and tasty, with plenty of choice. We had dinner a few times and the food was very good , the cold buffet on Sunday evening was excellent .We would like to thank Duncan and his staff for a wonderful holiday particularly Anne from Vienna who looked after us at breakfast . The fact that there is no bar in the hotel was not a problem for us as we bought wine locally and enjoyed it on the hotels magnificent terrace .
