Stayed a week at Sea Henge in Hunstanton. Can only recommend highly, brand new renovation, really well equipped, comfy, quirky, stylish, with an eye for detail, by the owners who are extremely friendly and helpful. Stairs are a little steep but unless you're a touch uncertain on your pins you should be fine.

A lovely apartment equipped to a high standard in a very convenient location in St Aubin. There is a large choice of restaurants around and a good bus service if you do not want to hire a car. The owner is very friendly and helpful and we will certainly be back.

We stayed at Harbour View Apartments in St Aubins for a week in the Haddon Suite and had a wonderful time. It is close to beautiful beaches, lovely walks, cycling and fantastic restaurants. It was so easy to get around with the frequent buses just a short walk away. The suites are self catering and were decorated to a high standard. There was everything you could possibly need and there was a great welcome pack waiting for us on arrival. Outside has a nice area to sit. Thank you Kelly for a fantastic holiday.

We recently spent three nights at Harbour View and had a brilliant time. The apartments are first-class and fitted out to a very high standard with fabulous views. They have everything you need and a superb Welcome Pack! The location is ideal and off-street parking is a real bonus. Kelly & Amanda are brilliant hosts. There are lots of places to eat in the vicinity catering for all tastes. Thoroughly recommended and would definitely stay again when in Jersey.

Lovely apartment and location excellent. Kelly is a very good host, nothing too much trouble for her. Lots of good restaurants on the door step, The Boat House is the best.Would definitely stay there again. Not too far from the airport and the bus stop and the Little Train to St Helier goes from the harbour a five minute walk away.

My husband and I stayed here in summer. On arrival, everything seemed near perfect - lovely harbour, great room with view of harbour, free use of bikes. There was no offer to help carry our large cases us the narrow stairs. I did see a photo of a dog, Red, the Rhodesian ridgeback, pinned to the notice board, introducing him as the family pet. My stomach dropped - I normally look for things like this in accommodation websites as I'm not a dog fan, but there is no mention of the dog on their website that I can find. Red didn't make his appearance until breakfast, where he had constant and free run of the breakfast room and small courtyard at the front of the hotel, but he spent most of his time poking his nose into people's breakfasts. Disgusting! Surely there are health regulations about pets near food. He is a huge dog whose head was well above the height of the tables. We were not asked if we were happy with the dog in the breakfast room - I was not happy at all and could not relax or enjoy my breakfast. The male owner also stood looming over us in tight breakfast space - making small talk about what his dog ate, and a few ignorant and offensive remarks about religion. He was not needed as it was a serve yourself breakfast, so his presence also added to the tension in the room for me. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again because of the dog.

This is a good guesthouse and generally I would recommend it, but its not for everyone.

On the plus side, the location is great, parking is reasonably easy, St Aubin is lovely, the breakfast is great with lots of options and everything I tried was lovely, tea/coffee and cakes out during the day was very welcome, and a good honesty scheme is in place, the rooms are clean, and well maintained, bathrooms are good.

However there are a few things that stopped me giving 5/5

1) Now I love dogs, and the one at harbour view is a very sweet one, and for a puppy very well behaved and I did like having him around the place as we have dogs at home. However I found it a bit weird that the only time the owners decided to let him have free reign of the dining area was when people are eating. Its not like he's unobtrusive, he does pay a fair bit of interest in your food. If you're used to having dogs at home its fine to just push him away but if you have any issue with dogs at all then harbour view is not for you.

2) Its really hard to get hold of the staff! When you arrive the key to your room is just in the door, that's fine, its a bit impersonal but its efficient and I can show myself to my room. The annoying thing is if you have any questions etc no one is really around to help you, there is a number to call which I called once because I was trying to drop something off for someone in another room but there was no answer, and the kitchen staff don't seem to speak English.

3) My room wasn't cleaned on one day, I didn't complain as I only realised when I got in at 11pm and just wanted to go to bed, so I'm not holding this up as a reason not to stay at harbour view, as its not important and I don't know what would have happened if I had made a fuss (assuming I would have been able to get hold of the staff), but it was a bit annoying

So overall, I would stay there again, but I know it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea.

I traveled as a single women, booked and paid for 15 days way in advance. I could not believe I was given what must be the worst room in the building. First, it was a garden view room, not a one of the highly praised harbour view rooms.Even on a sunny day, it was dark. Second, what is called "garden view" is a view into a slope, far away from any garden. Third, the room was tiny. I felt like traveling on a low price cruise ticket. Fourth, the room was noise polluted to no end - until late at night, by the kitchen ventilator of the next door restaurant placed along my window. No surprise that I was surprised, negatively. To make things worse, the owners showed no flexibility in accommodating me differently. When I expressed my frustration, I was told that I "better leave" since I was not going to be happy anyhow - and that they were not keen to have their atmospere polluted by unhappiness.

Response from kkeadell, Owner at Harbour View self catering Accomodation
Responded Aug 27, 2013
We are very sorry to have disappointed you on your visit to the Harbour View, It was not out intention what so ever we are here to please, but I am afraid Your review is misleading and I feel it only fair to defend myself. You had booked a single garden view with us and you contacted me to explain your partner was coming for the second week, I had said if you were happy to share the single room (it has a double bed) that it would be fine by me and you were happy with that as I had no other room available. But on your arrival you completely took a dislike to my guest house and were unfriendly to staff and to myself. I did offer to change your room for the second week but that would have meant moving to different rooms which understandably you did not want to do. My staff and I try to make your stay as comfortable as possible and regarding the view it is of a terraced garden. Once again we apologise The Team at the Harbour View

It's a great place to stay at St Aubin. If you manage to get one of the front-side rooms, even better. You get a nice view to the port and sea.
Breakfast is delicious and well worth.
Those travelling with a car, it might be a bit tricky to get a parking spot as those available might be taken and the ones in the street as well.
Getting into St Hellier is very easy with the nearby bus station.

Hi Kellie and Amanda,

Thank you, thank you for what you did for myself and Nick, If you hadn't come to our aid, our holiday would of turned out a living hell.

Firstly, can I say that Kellie and Amanda are lovely people, will go out of their way to help you, well can't do enough for you, nothing is to much trouble.

We arrived in Jersey on Saturday 23rd September, booked into the guest house (Bon Viveur Guest house, well it smelled damp, it was dirty, had not been cleaning. Just no way was I staying there.

We got in our car and drove up the road to a Hotel where Becky sorted us out to stay at Harbour View.

All I can say is it is immaculate, the breakfast is lovely, full English, hams, cheeses, cake etc. etc.

If you are wanting to stay at a family run guest house, this is the place to stay, more of a home from home feel about it.

Thank you to you both, what a great job you are doing. We will see you both next year.

Shell & Nick Hadfield xxxxx

It took a couple of emails for Kelly to respond to my husband's emails but all was confirmed in due course. I couldn't get any response on the phone when we arrived but we did meet Kelly one evening - she does exist although she is very illusive. Yes there was a fridge in the room.

Do anything you can to get there. It's worth it. As has been mentioned before the breakfast is brilliant and it really is a lovely location. Don't miss out.
